Hello everyone,
I'm new to this site. I recently graduated in May 2008 and I took the RN NCLEX last Thursday 14th of August. I got about 183 or so when the computer shut down. I live in California and sfeel so unease waiting for the result. I would say it was a tough exam and I got lots of analysis and prioritization questions.
How long does it take for candidates in California to get the RN NCLEX exam result? What can I do to remain patient?
Expecting response from anyone...

i also took the nclex-rn last thurdays (8/14/08) here in anaheim, CA. It shut off at 123. i got 15 select all that apply, 1 math (fill in the blank), some delegation, infection control, prioritization questions, and lots of pharma. I am also anxious of waiting for the result. i hope we both passed. Let me know if you get yours.

The only way to find out is to watch for your name on the CA BRN website, there is no place else to get results any earlier.
Average wait time is about ten days, can be earlier provided that they have a completed file on you.
Much has already been written here about CA and the exam, just do a search. And best of luck to both of you that are waiting.
Hello Superkyx, thanks for the response. I live in Oxnard, CA but had to take mine in San Diego. That was only place available for August at the time I scheduled. I can't remember how select all that apply questions I got. But lots of meds, delegation, infection control and prioritization questions.... I feel so anxious. I pray we both passed...

Jeez, I would hate to live in California. I can't believe they make you guys wait so long? Why does it take SO LONG? I thought 2 days was bad enough.
Good luck and relax. Easy enough to say.
CA will permit a new CA grad to test before they have received the transcripts from the school as long as their name is on a roster that is submitted by the school.
Only about 27 states participate in Quick Results and there are actually quite a few of the others that take at least a week before posting licenses.
We just hear much more about CA since the state is so large to begin with.
Results can be up as early as two to three days, but the average is ten days. But this should also be told to the students that are testing by their schools before they even graduate so this would not be an issue for so many.
Blame that on the schools, not the BRN. If the schools do not get the transcripts in, then the BRN cannot release results.

I took mine on aug 14 also and just checked this morning and no luck so far. I am really scared and afraid. God help us all in this miserable test. I got one math couple of SATA,and lots of meds, teaching, who would you see first, what would you do first. I found some of the questions were almost word for word from what I had studied.....Kaplan, Saunders, and Lippincott.
Thanks Pink Scrubs, RN....my anxiety goes up and down..
