Authorization to test

Published

I graduate on may 13th. I have applied to my state board of nursing and Pearson vue and paid associated fees. I know that I won't be given authorization to test until my school releases my graduation information. From past experiences how long does it usually take to get att? I am wondering because I start my job on June 13th and am wondering if I should bother with a temporary permit or is there a good chance I will be licensed before that date? Of course I suppose maybe I should consider the temp permit in case I wouldn't pass?

Yes. I did but nothing. Maybe I have to call Pearson vue. Thanks

Follow up with BoN. BoN gives Pearson Vue permission

Pearson vue haven't give me ATT yet.

I'm in Florida and got the approval from the BON on a Friday. I had already registered with PearsonVue and their website said that there were no tests available to schedule, but that I had submitted payment for the NCLEX. I went on each day and on Monday I received the email ATT from Pearson and was able to schedule the exam. First available date was three weeks out...a week from today.

I had a few issues with Pearson regarding getting my name changed (took my NCLEX PN 15 years ago under a different last name). If you need to contact them, I had a lot better luck using the online chat function on their website versus the telephone call that seemed like a trip to the Twilight Zone. I became so frustrated from getting no where that I tried the chat just to see if I could have better luck. It took two attempts but I finally got someone who could correct the issue. Over the phone I had tried twice and the issue was not resolved.

I just got my ATT. I called the BON and few minutes later. Pearson emailed my ATT. Thank you guys.

OP, you mention one reason for getting it for if you don't pass NCLEX. Keep in mind that if you don't pass NCLEX while using a temporary license, the temporary license will be revoked. It is literally only good until the result of your NCLEX are processed and a license is either issued or denied.

Good point. I knew that, but think I sort of forgot. Thanks for the reminder....

I sent my app in on feb 16th, had my att on feb 25th. I'm from Ohio
