Hi there,

I'm new to allnurses (have taken ages to work out how to make this site work). I'm currently working in Adelaide as an agency nurse, and am wondering if there are many other australian or adelaide nurses on line?

Hi GRACE OZ! Im a newbee in this forum. Im a nurse here in the philippines with nearly 2 yrs of experience. I already passed the IELTS, CGFNS and NCLEX which are all exams for USA. But because of the retrogression I have changed my mind to go to Australia instead of USA.

I plan to work in NSW and I'm now preparing the necessary requirements for the registration. I really dont know how it is to work there and how to apply. I dont have any agency at this point.. Would you suggest me to find one or I would apply by myself?

Do you know some agencies that you might recommend to me?

And about the bridge program. Do you think I have to undergo and emrol for that program? Or will I just take the licensure exam without having that bridge program?

I heard the program costs $4000.. Wow! That's a pretty huge amount!

Hope you can help me with this one..

Thank you so much!

God Bless!

Hello to all of you nurses from adelaide and brisbane! How's your work going on there? Hope you're all doing great and having a good time!

May I just ask gwenith and smilenurse, what is your nationality?

Are you also a Filipino like me?

If YES - I will ask HOW DID YOU GET THERE?

If NOT - I will ask DO YOU KNOW SOME AGENCIES THAT WILL HELP ME TO GET THERE?

Thank you so much!

I'm so desparate to go to Australia!! huhuhuhuhu....

i'm unable to recommend any agency to you, wxyz. sorry. i don't live in nsw.

from what i know and understand, you will have to do the bridging program regardless. someone else here might be able to confirm or deny this. but this is my understanding.

hope you can help me with this one..i've not been of much help, i'm afraid! i do wish you all the very best in your quest!

thank you so much!

god bless!

cheers.............

Specializes in ICU.

Blackwater is in Central Queensland and if you are wanting to work there - which I do not suggest until you spend some time in bigger hospitals - I suggest you contact the Queensland Nursing Council first,

Thank you gwenith!

I am planning to register in NSW. Would you recommend it?

Thanks!

Difficult to say what it is like to register in NSW as I am in Queensland. Trouble is you are asking people who are born in Australia how to get here - and most of us can't tell you because we didn't have to go through the system. However there are quite a few nurses from other areas of the world who have posted in this forum about how to register here.

Ops! yeah i forgot you are an australian. lol! Thanks anyway...GREETINGS!!!
