Hi there,
I'm new to allnurses (have taken ages to work out how to make this site work). I'm currently working in Adelaide as an agency nurse, and am wondering if there are many other australian or adelaide nurses on line?

You are from SA? I plan to be moving there next year post grad year...have had enough of living in NT most of my life. Can you tell me anything about hospitals there, whether country or city?:typing
Tiwi, hope these links are of some help.

These are all hospitals in the city and metropolitan area.

Hi Grace Oz,
I'm an Adelaide girl through and through, just new to allnurses. RU from SA or elsewhere? Currently working in SA? Me, and agency nurse and loving it. Previously at RGH.
Hi Tiwi,
Have you considered agency nursing until you find where you want to work? Its a great way to get to know hospitals quickly.
Other hospitals in Adelaide are;
Queen Elizabeth, Royal Adelaide, Lyall McEwan (never been there, dont know much about it), Repat, Flinders Medical Centre, Noarlunga Hospital. Plus lots of private hospitals, and lots of Aged Care positions. Good luck.

G'day! Yes, I'm in Adelaide. Now retired. :monkeydance: Did agency in my final couple of years before pulling the plug. It can be good. Has it's downside sometimes though. Hope you visit allnurses often! You'll meet lots of lovely folks here! ENJOY!

Please forgive a Pom sneaking over onto your forum. I lived in SA for 3 years when my husband was posted over to Oz with the military. I worked at Lyell McEwin hospital and loved it there. I worked in outpatients as a RN/RM.
I found Australia to be a lovely place. I really enjoyed nursing over there, and did not want to go back to cold UK (Scotland) at the end of our 3 years.
You are just so lucky to be living in such a beautiful place. What I miss so much - the Barossa Valley and all that wine!!!!!
Thanx everyone. It is really hard trying to find places as you all know, in a town/city you don't know. My dream would be to buy an old mechanically sound bus, turn it into a mobile home, toss the dogs and cat (oops and husband) and travel/work around Oz....

you are welcome to join our forum anytime you like! :)
we may have worked together! i did agency at lyell mac, in outpatients! :) several times!
glad you enjoyed your time here so much. yes, it is a beautiful city. the barossa valley, ( and it's wine of course!), is just fabulous!
then again, i'm a tad biased! :) and, i do never take for granted how blessed i am to live here. having travelled throughout most of australia, and last year to the usa, i fully appreciate just what a magnificent place sa is.
maybe you'll get to return one day. :)
