Austin Community College ADN Spring 2020

Published

Hi pre-nursing students!

So I know it's extremely early but I figured I'd go ahead and start a thread for Spring 2020 applicants. I'm a huge worry bug and have tons of questions and would love to give and receive advice throughout this process. I'm completing my last two prerequisites this spring and will be applying when the application opens on May 15th! Tell me about your journey and ask questions about mine!

last time when I got the ranking score, they were accepting 35 and up only and there is like 215 applicants total. 150 accepted. and I'm only at 32

Hi, I just finished my RNSG 1105 class last week and it went by so fast. I reapply for spring 2020 because I did not get accepted for fall 2019 and I'm glad that I didn't get accepted because I was not ready at all, I realized that when I'm already at the RNSG class, because I had a hard time in the beginning but our professors at RR are very helpful and kind that I was able to overcome my anxiety when it comes to check-offs. not only I pass the class I also got an A. so Goodluck to you guys that are about to start the RNSG. The only advice I have is "OPEN LAB".. any questions let me know.

Thank you for this information! Good luck to you with your reapplying! Hopefully we will be there with you ?

Thank you for sharing that with us, if you dont mind, could you sharing your stats or ranking point, so we can have an idea of what our chances are ?

That would be so helpful ????

Do you happen to know if the 215 was the total or just new applicants. I am trying to get a sense of how many reapplicants there might be this round. Thanks for all the info!

I just finished Microbiology with a B so it looks like I'll have a 40.

I'm starting to kind of feel good about this!

OMG Someone please help! I am so confused on how to tally up the points for ranking.

Nursing prereq GPA =

times x

# of coreq classes "taken" (not the grade received in the class, which is a total of 3 possible, right)? Psych, Engl I, Ethics = 3 classes

Plus + HESI points

Plus + review points for first time appliers 6pts?

I'm going to pop a vein, have a stroke or heart attack before ranking is even published (in Oct ???NO!!!!)

out of 44 possible

lets just say someone got a perfect 4.0 gpa for prereq

times all three coreq classes

perfect HESI =30pts

and 6pts for review

4.0 x 3 = 12, 12 + 30 + 6 = 48 total pts

Is that even right? UGH!!!

4.0 x 7 = 28

+ 10 for HESI

+ 6 for review

44 pts.

I must be a complete moron and probably should re-evaluate wanting to enter the program, cause I STILL don’t understand. Where did the 7 come from and how is the hesi only worth 10 if they are counting your a&p, math and reading comp scores?

7 is representing if you made a 80-89

and 10 if you made a 90-100
