Hi pre-nursing students!

So I know it's extremely early but I figured I'd go ahead and start a thread for Spring 2020 applicants. I'm a huge worry bug and have tons of questions and would love to give and receive advice throughout this process. I'm completing my last two prerequisites this spring and will be applying when the application opens on May 15th! Tell me about your journey and ask questions about mine!

@chriscruz omg than I’m freaking out I think i have a ranking of 34 . Oh no so likelihood I might not get in my first time ?

My friend got in last year with a 31. It just all depends who is applying

Hey, y’all!

I turned my application in about two weeks ago. I looked at the application status page and there was an update stating that they are sending out the next round of petitions for the nursing skills class on 8-12-2019! I’m so excited/nervous. I’ve been watching my email intensely and checking self service literally everyday to make sure that was still spots for the skills class. When I took my HESI Cindy , the advisor, said they might be opening up more spots because so many people were applying. And it looks like she was right!!

knowing so many people are applying makes me even more nervous. Please tell me I’m not the only one ?

@ashlynhope nope your not the only one ! I’m so nervous!! I just want to get in! Now I’m worried the more applying the more I’m worried on my rank that I’ve calculated .

Just you mentioning this is going to drive me to take my final to get an A in micro.

What’s your rank? Mines a 43 and I feel like that’s not good enough. I’m also worried because I didn’t put my application in until July 19th and I’ve seen people saying it goes by when you applied. If that’s the case I might be screwed.

@ashlynhope 43 rank is ? bomb!! I hear the max rank is a 45 or 44 max!! So your right there !! I’ve calculated 34 ?that doesn’t feel good enough.

@Serena Perez 34 could be could enough!! It just depends on how high everyone else ranks. Don’t give up hope yet. Opening up more seats was a blessing and a curse. It gives you more of a chance, but it also means more people for them to look at at the same time. It’s all a waiting game. And if everyone is right, your 34 could be good enough if you applied earlier in the term.

Im just curious as to why they opened up more seats? Like could this application term be the biggest one they have had, yet? It’s all so scary. There’s a good and a bad to all of it I feel like!

44 is the highest you can get as a first time applicant.

Ranking is based on solely points. Application date doesn't have anything to do with anything but petitions.

I knew I had read something about application dates being considered at one point or any other.. I applied in the middle of July so I really hope that gives me a good place for getting a petition.

If theres so many people applying why did they push the application deadline to August? I thought it was because they didn't have enough applicants so they added more hesi dates and pushed the app dealing
