Hello everyone,
I did not see any other thread for ACC Spring 2018. Figured I would start one where we can all share our acceptance anxieties. I applied last week, I don't think I will get in first time around though very competitive. How do your application stats look?
We are all crazy
I'm not 100% positive, I think they do send it to enforcement but it's different. I think it's more of an observation thing as long as your under a care/treatment. The sooner you send it in the better. Just make sure you have all the paperwork the application form says to send in.
I've got a few C's for both pre and co reqs but I'm guessing the cutoff will be around 32. There will be a few rounds before the Spring class begins. I'm loving Nursing Skills but I think the real test will be during our ADN program and clinicals. Been thinking about calling the department and asking for last years class info.
Thank goodness I found this forum, I was wondering why there wasn't a Spring 2018. Anyways does can someone tell me what we need for nursing skills, I'm starting in 2 weeks and was wondering if we needed scrubs or anything. And I also received my ranking email! i got 35 and a friend of mine got a 38! I'm so nervous, I wonder when the acceptance email will actually be sent out! Anyways good luck everybody! ^^

You'll need scrubs and the textbook.

From what I could find for the class, we need the Nursing Fundementals book, scrubs (not the ACC teal scrubs), and closed toed shoes. I'm getting the ebook since I read that you use it or reference it through all the levels, including clinicals. Don't want to be hauling a textbook for that. It's like $87 right now on Amazon for ebook. I'm not sure if we need the DVDs that I've seen mentioned, I guess we'll figure that out around Aug 22 or when Blackboard usually gets active.
As far as the DO, it's 10 business days from when you send in the paperwork. If you use the link that is on the DO page, and try and enter your credentials, if it's not in the system yet, it won't let you schedule fingerprints so it's a way to tell when you can get them done. After you submit your fingerprints, takes about 2-3 days for the BON to receive them, then it's another 10 days before your file is sent for review. Then it's up to 30 days before you find out if you get sent to enforcement or get the clearance letter. If you get sent to enforcement, it's $150 and waiting up to 6-9 months and usually there is some sort of program you have to complete depending on the crime committed. After receiving your clearance though, about 90 days before graduation, you have to send a paper application in for the NCLEX. The clearance letter really just gives you a pass to get into Nursing School, not actually take the test. You cannot sign up online otherwise you get sent to enforcement.
I've been doing a lot of reading lol >.
