  1. I'm interested in getting certified. I see the exam covers antepartum and LD. I have worked in PP for 4 years and started there as a new grad. So it is all I know! I'm curious if anyone else went through the certification process who also had only experience in PP. I have a small working knowledge of pregnancy and labor/ birth complications and treatments. (Which seems to be the majority of the test) If you were in my boat... how did it go? And how long did it take you to prepare? Thank You!
  2. You do not have to wear them to class. You have to have scrubs for lab. I wear mine to class if I have lab or if I'm going to the hospital that day. Some people change. But I'm not trying to double my laundry load!
  3. I went to Cedar Park Medical Scrubs. They were really helpful. She pulled every set up scrubs that they had (or could order) in teal. I was very specific about what I wanted and she put up with me. Especially when I tried on and re-tried on the same scrubs over and over. (I could decide!) But really any place will work. I peaked into the store at the outlet and didn't care for their selection. They weren't any cheaper either! The school recommends 2 sets of scrubs. I got 4. But really think 3 is a must. You have to wear them the day you go to the hospital to get patient info, then your 2 clinical days. Shoes. You do have to have slip and water resistant shoes. I ended up with abeo clogs. I think they are ugly (not my thing) but they are comfy. They can be the fun colored ones either! Most people get dansco clogs. I went caravel shoes and the guy had me try several brands on.... and danscos were the worse for me. Some people love them. My feet did not! Oh speaking of feet! Get compression socks! I thought I didn't need them until I was a "real nurse" and on the floor all day. Someone in my clinical group told me to get some after I was complaining about the pain. It was a complete 360 with my socks on! And no problem! I was so lost when I started! And lost again when I started level 2 this semester! If it wasn't for that one person I know that is a level ahead of me, I might have lost it! Always feel free to ask away!
  4. In level-1 it was basically class or lab Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday. On Wednesday you pick up your patient info at the hospital and then clinical is on Thursdays and Fridays. If you go to the following link, you can click on the level/campus. Then you can see the calendar for THIS semester... just to have an idea. Mobility Level 1: RNSG 1517/114
  5. I think I need clarification. You are needing to register for RNSG-1105 (nursing skills 1) I don't understand what you mean by the first and second part of the fall?
  6. Did you take any courses at multiple campuses? I'm hearing to stay away from rr. Any experience with this or ever heard of anything?
  7. I start the program in the spring 2018. I'm hoping to get some opinions from you guys! What campus?!? I've heard to avoid round rock... That people seem to prefer evc and even cec over round rock. Whatcha think?
  8. Yes, you'll have a scenario. You can you one from the practice skills if you want. Just to get use to reading them and picking or the information you actually need when you go into the to the room
  9. I was SOOO nervous! I did my 1st one last week! I'm a nervous test taker, so doing it in front of the grader was hard for me! If you have questions... Ask BEFORE you go in! Take your time (because you can with this one) I'd say ita good to go in order. You obviously have to do hand hygiene before you go into a room so that's not something you could do whenever. Just do it the way you practiced! I practiced at home taking my "gown" off using a backwards jacket. I pretended I was untieing the back. Came to the real day and I forgot to untie it! Luckily you can state when you've made a mistake and fix it. There's not really much else to it. Just keep practicing! Even when you think you got it. And after that one... Start working on the next skills check because it's a doozy! I'm ready for that check off to be done!
  10. Have you heard anything yet?
  11. I got a 35 Someone in my class got a 38
  12. Yep, got mine this morning! Still anxiously awaiting that next email!
  13. Thanks! That makes it a little easier to see it all in 1 spot! So I don't have a criminal offense, I'm just crazy. Do you know if they send those off as well? I'm terrified that whole process won't be done in time!
  14. For the DO did you have to wait until after you submitted your paperwork to TBON before you could get finger printed? If so, how long did you have to wait?
