Hi ya'll-
Thought I'd get this started for the rest of us who, sadly, did not make it in for Fall 2010. I'm hoping to re-submit my application for Spring today (or this week). Does anyone know, do we receive the form from the nursing office? Or, is this something we should grab from the website?
My score upon re-applying will be 54.899. Dang, sure am hoping this will be high enough and get me in this round!
How's everyone else holding up? Did everyone complete the pre-req - 1105 already? I have not and won't (due to extenuating circumstances) until early Fall. Will this negatively impact my chances of getting accepted? According to Tammy and the office, no. But, wanting to get everyone's input. Hoping we will hear about acceptance by Sept. Does anyone know this date for sure? The application period closed July 15, don't know why it takes them so long to get this word out.
Anyway- good luck to you. This is my 3rd round of applying so I sure am ready to get in and get on with this career change!

Being my obsessive self, I already put my 7th edition (along with the workbook) up for sale on Amazon.com. Amazingly, I got $95 for it the same day that I posted it. I'm sure that there are few (if any) substantive differences between the 7th and 8th editions. My OCD just had me by the throat and I had no other choice.
By the way, the school bookstore said they'd take anything back that had been dropped from the book list if you have your receipt and show them your school schedule. I just wasn't able to return my 7th ed. since I'd already eagerly opened up the cd's envelope that was included in the book.
In case anyone is interested, they have posted the Spring 2011 calendars for level 1 hybrid and Round Rock onsite campuses.
Thanks RADIATIONRN2BE. They don't have CEC's up yet, but now I'll be checking it repeatedly. Haha. It was great to see RR's calendar and get an idea of what we've got ahead of us for spring semester.
Does anyone remember where to find the difference between all the RN programs? Like CEC, EVC, Hybrid and all those. I know I want CEC first but I don't know which option to put as my second choice. Do we have to drive to RR for the Hybrid courses? Ty for any help
CEC, EVC, RR onsite all are pretty much the same regarding classroom, lab, and clinical requirements. You can get a look at previous calendars on the ADN website under level 1 and choose the campus. Then select Foundations of Nursing link and you should see a link for either the new Spring 2011 calendar or the Fall 2010.
Hybrid, which is what I am starting in a couple of weeks, requires your labs and exams on the Round Rock campus. So, Mondays you do your learning modules on your own, every other Tuesday there is an exam which requires 2 hours onsite at RR, then wednesdays and thursdays are spent either at RR campus for labs or at your respective clinical site, Fridays there is nothing.
Hope that helps!
I don't know if all campuses are like this but hybrid is posted in blackboard. I just happened to log in to make sure I remembered my password and all the level 1 courses are loaded.
Has anyone received part of the lab kit in the mail at home yet?? I haven't and I was just curious if anyone else has.
Just to give a suggestion, I strongly suggest you at least read and/or finish the study and learning guides for the first week of class assessment modules because If you walk into the first lab and lecture without doing it you may struggle and become very overwhelmed with the amount information they will throw at you and the time restraint you have to remember everything for check off. The first week of class was very stressful for everyone in my class because of the assessments we had to learn in 3 days. I did the modules before class and I was prepared but people who didn't do it were oblivious to what they should do because our teachers didn't walk us step through step, we worked with a partner. Wish you the best of luck! First week is very stressful but everyone gets through it.

Where exactly are the study and learning guides?
