Austin Community College - ACC - Spring '11 hopefuls

Published

Hi ya'll-

Thought I'd get this started for the rest of us who, sadly, did not make it in for Fall 2010. I'm hoping to re-submit my application for Spring today (or this week). Does anyone know, do we receive the form from the nursing office? Or, is this something we should grab from the website?

My score upon re-applying will be 54.899. Dang, sure am hoping this will be high enough and get me in this round!

How's everyone else holding up? Did everyone complete the pre-req - 1105 already? I have not and won't (due to extenuating circumstances) until early Fall. Will this negatively impact my chances of getting accepted? According to Tammy and the office, no. But, wanting to get everyone's input. Hoping we will hear about acceptance by Sept. Does anyone know this date for sure? The application period closed July 15, don't know why it takes them so long to get this word out.

Anyway- good luck to you. This is my 3rd round of applying :( so I sure am ready to get in and get on with this career change!

Colleen

congrats to you! So I just need 11 more people to defer or not pass background check... keeping my fingers crossed.

I am really hoping I get hybrid. I literally repsonded within 4 minutes of the email so I hope I was one of the first 30. My boss has been nagging me about how many days I am going to be able to work come January.

I think you will definitely get it! Didn't you defer last semester because you wanted hybrid?

does anyone know how much time passed between getting the acceptance letter and getting the email letting you know which campus you got? The ADN program always keeps the suspense alive, lol.

so happy . i got in !!! i just got the email today .. i was 146 in the ranking ...

Yea, Palomagt!!! Congratulations!!!! :yeah::yeah::yeah:

Yes, initially rejected on May 19th, followed 4 weeks later with an opening only at the CEC campus. I asked for any openings in hybrid and they said no. So I deferred.

Last semester it was 3 weeks. The acceptance emails were sent on May 19th, and I believe they got their follow-up emails close to 3 weeks later on June 7th or around there.

Our email said we would receive it BY October 12th. So let's hope it is sooner rather than later.

RADIATIONRN2BE, my bet is you definitely got hybrid this time, especially since you responded so quickly. I replied back right away as well, and selected 1) CEC, 2) RR, 3) EVC. I'm still pinching myself to see if I'm dreaming. I can't believe I got in!

Thanks for the info. I guess I was so excited about the acceptance that I didn't read anything else properly. I hope it's sooner also. :D

I wonder if they are going to wait and send out all of the 2nd emails at once, or send them out as each location is full. Does anyone know how many students they are filling for each location?

They are all sent at once. At least that is how it was done last semester.

According to the people who weren't accepted, ACC took in 142 as opposed to the 160 they took last semester. My friend who is in the level 1 CEC program this semester says there are 50 students there, hybrid started with 30 (now down to 27 after 3 people dropped out), eastview I believe has around 30-40, and round rock with 50.

I assume they will do the same for Spring 2011 but who knows. It is 18 less spots so maybe they lost either a clinical site or instructors.

Hey Everyone, I was one of the ones who applied for spring '11 but did not get accepted. My ranking was 181. Tammy told me there is a very very slim chance that enough people will not accept and I could still get in. I am hoping. Does anyone know if 39 people are likely to either defer or not pass background checks? I am trying to decide what my next step will be.
