Hi ya'll-
Thought I'd get this started for the rest of us who, sadly, did not make it in for Fall 2010. I'm hoping to re-submit my application for Spring today (or this week). Does anyone know, do we receive the form from the nursing office? Or, is this something we should grab from the website?
My score upon re-applying will be 54.899. Dang, sure am hoping this will be high enough and get me in this round!
How's everyone else holding up? Did everyone complete the pre-req - 1105 already? I have not and won't (due to extenuating circumstances) until early Fall. Will this negatively impact my chances of getting accepted? According to Tammy and the office, no. But, wanting to get everyone's input. Hoping we will hear about acceptance by Sept. Does anyone know this date for sure? The application period closed July 15, don't know why it takes them so long to get this word out.
Anyway- good luck to you. This is my 3rd round of applying so I sure am ready to get in and get on with this career change!

My 1105 instructor said the main reason they can't increase enrollment even with the new campus is because of clinical locations. Too many nursing students/programs, not enough hospitals in the area.
My friend is in the hybrid program this semester and she said their three choices for clinical sites were Round Rock Medical Center, North Austin Medical Center, and Seton Williamson. At the last minute they lost Seton Williamson and had to go to Texas Neuro Rehab for their third site. So yes, I do believe it is lack of clinical sites.
Well, I did NOT get accepted. My rank was a 51.3, and I'm at position 158 out of the 142 to be accepted, so unless 16 people defer, I'm going to have to wait until Fall. But, I still start my nursing skills class on October 4th, so I'll have some fun while I'm waiting.
Does anyone know, on average, how many people usually defer? I'm doubting it is as high as 16, but my buddy said that he'd heard it was sometimes that high. Anyone?
I'm remaining optimistic, but not overly so. It will happen, if not this semester, then next.
Congrats to all those that got in! You are awesome!
I was speaking with one of the previous students in nursing and they said that around 20 people did defer one of these past semesters so don't worry you all are really close, i'm sure you will make it in and don't forget like radiation said people don't pass their background checks either so that's another few people out!
LiliValley... Yeah, that would be weird, but fortunate, for you and me. :)
I'm happy for everyone that got in. I'm looking forward to getting started. And, I guess, if 16 people defer or can't pass the check, then I'll get to do so. But, if not, I'm gonna be your study buddy soon enough. :)
A friend of mine was rejected and then accepted nearly a month later for last fall due to deferrals. Those of you in the 140's and 150's shouldn't give up all hope!
ACC didn't accept one of my UT credits. I recalculated my ranking for fall and it's looking really good! Amazing how getting the full 10 course multiplier makes a huge difference. If I make an A in this prerequisite I'll have a 57.7 after I include the re-app points.
Congrats to all who made it! Nice job.
