Austin Community College (ACC) ADN Fall 2021

Nursing Students School Programs

Hi there! I know it's pretty early but I thought it would be nice to create a thread for all of us who will be applying for the Fall 2021 cohort, keep each other up to date on upcoming deadlines, and this whole process in general.

Hope y'all are keeping safe and staying sane during these wild times.

Ugh! Didn't see this yet. >3< Great more waiting LOL!

I double checked my email and mine says the 13th of May. Wonder if the two emails had two different times?

My emails have multiple dates too. I’ll check the website quick

This is what my email had in it.

My email said the same thing. But my friend who got hers this evening had 5/17 (where I got the screen shot). The website still says the week of 5/10 ??‍♀️??‍♀️??‍♀️

Really hope it stays on Thursday or Friday. I might email them tomorrow just to make sure I don't miss anything important.

My guess would be probably the end of the week before closing time.

Mine says, approximate time, May 17  My guess is that intention may have been earlier and then it changed... as it usually does.

Yeah, I think it's probably pushed back. ?

Hi everyone! I'm a Level 3 student at CEC. I remember reading these forums when I was worrying about acceptance, so I thought I'd share my experience (:

I applied for the class starting in Spring of 2020 as a first time applicant. The application period ended by August 12th, 2019. Early September, we were told to expect our ranking score once all applications were processed (which they said would be late September) and that acceptance letters would be sent by late October. We were also told at that time if we weren't accepted, we would receive an email with our ranking placement out of all the applicants. I received my ranking placement on October 1st. I had a rank score of 35.71. I didn't hear anything until I got an email on November 18th saying I was not accepted and was ranked 180 out of 267, but 2 days later I was granted acceptance!

For our cohort, if you had a 36.5+ you were accepted right away without a denial email. I'm not sure if that will be the case for y'all though since they aren't factoring in HESI scores. Either way, if you don't get acceptance immediately, there might still be hope if you are close to the cut off! I know the wait is tough but it's worth it. Good luck ?

Ah oops! I meant to say "received my ranking score" not ranking placement. I received my ranking placement out of all the applicants on November 18th.

Thank you for letting us know about your experience! I am nervous but this does make me feel positive!

Are you enjoying the CEC campus?

@Purienne I can't speak much for the campus itself since we went all online 2 months after I started my first semester due to COVID, but I do really like CEC. The professors are seem more relaxed and are easier on you compared to what I've heard from my friends at Eastview and Round Rock. I wouldn't say we have easier courses/exams, but I think that our professors are the generally the most lenient on skills check offs though. I wanted Eastview when I applied, but I'm really glad I ended up here instead. I hear Round Rock is super strict/intense and that a lot of their students end up failing or leaving the program, but those are just rumors I've heard so I can't confirm that.
