Augusta University BSN Fall 2018 Cohort

Published

Hi, guys! I have applied to Augusta University's BSN program-Athens Campus for the Fall of 2018 and wanted to start a thread to compare stats and experiences with the application process. Comment below if you are planning on applying or already have applied! I mainly am just so eager to find out if I got in or not. Fingers crossed!

So lucky! Hopefully I get something tomorrow. I can't wait any longer :(

My status also changed to decision made and in the mail. I don't know why they do it the old fashion way. At least do it both ways. I have been accepted into the Georgia College BSN program as of this past Monday. This is where I go currently. Just waiting to hear from Kennesaw. Good luck to everyone!!

For everyone that's gotten in- did your status change on a Thursday? Like am I wasting my time checking it everyday? I know people have said the committee supposedly meets every Thursday and sends out decisions but I was wondering if anyone's status changed on a day that wasn't a Thursday...

Mine changed on a Monday and I got the letter that Friday.

I think I'm gonna give myself until next week to see if my status changes. If not, I guess I didn't get in

I didn't know it was rolling admission.... I feel like I screwed myself over by waiting so long to apply! I did all my apps at the same time thinking they'd all have Mar 1 deadlines like Gsu and GGC. I completed everything and submitted Jan 13, and it has said ready for review since like.... Jan 26. Still no change and I'm so nervous!!

SAME. I submitted everything on Jan. 6. Still haven't heard anything. I had everything done in December but I forgot about the supplemental application so I submitted late on Jan. 6

I've been waiting since November :( I think they're keeping me as an option because of my job at CHOA, but are hesitant to accept me because my GPA isn't the most competitive. It's nice that I already have a bachelors in exercise science, but those major specific classes brought my GPA down a little bit which is kind of unfortunate. Just hoping they make a decision soon because it'll be hard to find affordable housing now given that a lot of places have already been rented out for next year. Here's to hoping we all hear something from them this week!

Well, good to know I can pretty much stop expecting this one to change :( My overall GPA is on the lower side, 3.33, because of some like 10 year old F's. All the classes I've taken since returning to school 2 years ago are 4.0, and I addressed it in my essay. I got a 90 on the TEAS and was pretty stoked about it, but I've been super worried about my low GPA, I assume if anything that's the thing that's going to hurt me everywhere. I hate that you have been waiting since November, that must be so agonizing!! I would be commuting, so housing isn't an issue for me but oh my goodness how nerve wracking!

Yeah it's such a pain in the butt knowing that my GPA is holding me back...I had a 3.8 through the end of my sophomore year of college because you spend the first 2 years taking core classes and then when I started taking my major specific classes things got a lot more difficult. I have a bachelor's in exercise science and had plans of going to PT school so I'd say the rigor of curriculum is probably around the same as the nursing classes so they were definitely difficult classes. I just wish they viewed my Bachelors as more of a pro rather than con because of my lower GPA.

My stats are trash: 3.37 GPA, 3.0 Science GPA, 82 on TEAs. But my essay showed that even with my struggles with school, I still pursued on cause there's nothing more that I wanna be. I also have over 200 volunteer hours. I just hope it works out for us

I definitely think that prior to November, they pay attention to when you applied. After the december decision, apparently they don't make many decisions until after the deadline (they sent out letters at different times, but got together once or twice to make decisions). Therefore, the one's who applied in early January are pretty much in the same boat as the ones who applied late January. It took over two months for them to accept me, so it definitely just depends on when they look and what they feel about the application. Sometimes it is better to have your aplication still up for review, because that means they haven't denied or decided to waitlist you yet and feel that you are too good for either of those decisions. I think you guys for sure have a chance! AU isn't a school that cares too much about GPA, but more about who you are as an individual. Good luck, you guys! Keep me updated!
