Hi, guys! I have applied to Augusta University's BSN program-Athens Campus for the Fall of 2018 and wanted to start a thread to compare stats and experiences with the application process. Comment below if you are planning on applying or already have applied! I mainly am just so eager to find out if I got in or not. Fingers crossed!
I finished my application around the first of January. I didn't get to that the TEAS for the first time until the 9th and I didn't get to send in my official transcript until January 25th (money was kinda tight). I don't have the most competitive stats (3.3 GPA and a 84 on the TEAS), but I made a B in A&P 1 and my academic advisor told me that would help my application (idk how true it is) and I've made A's and B's in all of my other sciences. I'm taking A&P 2 right now and doing well so far, and I take Micro in the summer.
My transcript still needs to be verified and I'm getting kinda nervous since it's taking a while and someone told me that admissions would be done by March. I know I probably have a lower chance of getting in, so if I don't I was thinking about picking up a minor? And does anyone know if AU has a CNA program? Someone told me I could do that too but I wasn't sure.
CNA as in Certified Nursing Assistant? If so, universities don't often offer this. I know that Augusta doesn't at the Athens Campus. However, there are classes you can take in Athens to achieve the certification, but the use of CNA's is quickly being replaced with med-techs and their jobs are now available without certification. Therefore, the schools that have this certification are slowly dying out.
I just sent an email asking about when I might hear for Athens Cohort. I submitted the application Jan 10th but everything was verified on Jan 23rd. This is what I received back today.
Thank you for your inquiry. Decision letters are sent out in several batches to applicants throughout Feb. and the beginning of April.
I do not know the exact date your will be sent out from the Admissions Office. Based upon your application date, I would guess that your decision might go out in about two weeks.
Thank you,
Sarah Thomas
