Augusta University BSN Fall 2018 Cohort

Published

Hi, guys! I have applied to Augusta University's BSN program-Athens Campus for the Fall of 2018 and wanted to start a thread to compare stats and experiences with the application process. Comment below if you are planning on applying or already have applied! I mainly am just so eager to find out if I got in or not. Fingers crossed!

Same I've been checking everyday as least 5x a day. Its crazy! I applied to two other schools. I sent in my updated TEAs scores two days ago, and they updated them in the portal but my status is still "Ready for Review". I'm so nervous, I really really hope I get in. I finished my application January 2nd, and Its been well over a month. Hopefully we find out soon. :) GOOD LUCK

It really just depends on when you apply and how many other people have applied. I applied in September and heard back in November because that's when they first started sending acceptance letters out (so over 2 months). I heard that they send them out in waves, so some people may hear back really soon because they applied closer to the wave, but sometimes the hold out on applications to continue to compare scores and experiences (like if you're right in the average range). I was told that they usually make quick decisions on those in the top percentile (accepting them) and low percentile (denying them) and then really delve into the averages' applications (accept, deny, or waitlist). I think you guys should be fine! This year apparently was the heaviest amount of applicants, so maybe they weren't as prepared for that!

Well that kinda sucks for me :( Im well average lol oh well, still keeping my hopes up

Does anyone know how many people are accepted for each Cohort?

I don't think so! That just means they really look at volunteer stuff, like you said you had!

ohughes, they accept around 100-120 for the Augusta Campus and 48 for the Athens campus. There is only one cohort (Fall 2018).

I applied back in November just after Thanksgiving so my application is approaching the 3 month mark. Just hoping my work experience at CHOA gets me in. I've learned so much on my unit because the nurses know I'm wanting to go back so a lot of times they let me watch procedures and do things that I otherwise would have never done (i.e. watching them drop NJ/NG tubes, foley insertions, PICC line dressings, etc)...I also got to watch our educator bring a patient out of superventricular tachycardia yesterday by dunking their face in ice so that was a super cool experience. I think working full-time for them has really allowed me to immerse myself in the nursing profession so fingers crossed Augusta will see that it has!!

I was looking at last year's forum and there were some people who didn't hear back until the beginning/middle of March. I feel like after that they start denying/waitlisting people so until then I'm gonna try not to panic. Oh my god 48 people for Athens?!? That's not that many oh no lol I mean my stats are good but they're not like amazing now I'm really nervous!!

I also saw last years forum and know someone who didn't get in until late March! I really don't think they notice the amount of time the application has been in at this point, I think they're just trying to sift through everything and make the super hard choices!!

Yeah they probably got a lot of applications turned in the last couple weeks so I'm not gonna lose hope just yet!!

I can't imagine go anywhere else. I really hope we get in :) And hopefully I get to meet you beautiful people!!

Where else have y'all applied? And is AU yall's first choices?
