Hi everyone,

I've been a lurker on allnurses for years, and finally am finishing up school to move forward for my Associates at Broward. Unfortunately, they have totally thrown a monkey wrench in the pre-req requirements, and now I'm going to have to wait until Jan 2015 possibly to get into that program!!!!! I have all pre res done except for the new math, CHM and new Micro pre-req. This is devastating. I'm wondering though, is it possible to take the Micro and Lab in the summer and somehow slip in for the August 2014 program, or am i bananas?

Students who already submit their applications should have 'Application in Review' as I am typing this. There are a few members here who submitted their application 1 to 2 months before I did.. Their status changed to 'Application in Review' a day before mine did.

hey guys,I just checked the August 2013 thread. Even though they'd extended the deadline for the new applicants who wanted to start in August to June 28th, the status of those who applied within the original "deadline" got updated by June 11th. So let's hope that it'll be the same for us. I applied on May 19th.

Did anyone complete the HCP core course with Sheridan Tech vs with Broward College?

That is good news... In the beginning of May they told me they would review applications in Mid June... I am still needing to take the HCP core course and probably wont finish until late June so hopefully I can still start in August!!

They monitor these websites and Facebook pages.. i heard of someone who got kicked out of the program for saying negative comments about the program on fb ..

What is the facebook page for those of us trying to start in Aug 2014?

Did you like it? I wanted to attend the class at Broward because it is in person but I need to finish it asap to try to start the nursing program in August and Sheridan's program is much faster. Honestly, I never heard of Sheridan Tech before someone at the school recommend I take the core course there.

I spoke with the Health Sciences department. What does your status say. Mine still days "Denied, requirements not met". I called today to ask why and the lady told me that they are still in the process of making sure everyone requirements are met.

Sheridan is a good tech school but how long is the course there because you only have three more weeks to go in June. The Core @ BC is an 8 weeks class, all you have to do is attend the classes, highlight what necessary,read, take the tests, do your demo, and ur done. And, we don't have a Facebook page yet for Aug 2014, but I think we'll launch one once we got admitted.

It was 3 weeks online. 3 classes in person. It was a great way to get the class done. The college took my application and I brought the certificate after.
