August 2014 for Broward College

Hi everyone,

I've been a lurker on allnurses for years, and finally am finishing up school to move forward for my Associates at Broward. Unfortunately, they have totally thrown a monkey wrench in the pre-req requirements, and now I'm going to have to wait until Jan 2015 possibly to get into that program!!!!! I have all pre res done except for the new math, CHM and new Micro pre-req. This is devastating. I'm wondering though, is it possible to take the Micro and Lab in the summer and somehow slip in for the August 2014 program, or am i bananas?

Hey, don't feel bad. I called the Health Sciences department 2 days ago and they told me that they are not reviewing the applications until the middle and end of June. Don't worry you will get in!

Which campus did you call SaltyCookie? Today I spoke with the executive nursing dept assistant at Central and she also said late June is not too late to apply. Makes me feel so much better!

I only got 6 points on my GPA and I was preadmitted last semester... I guess they focus more on the hesi

They've told me their focus is on the GPA points. I know Imma get in but I can't take the wait anymore.

I think it was much better when everything had a deadline. A deadline to take the hesi for a particular term and a deadline to submit applications. Admission is so disorganized; they (Central, North and South) should all play by the same rules. Every Campus tells something different. North Campus told me they will start sending letters by mid June, but now I am hearing Central students have until late June to apply.. No offense to anyone who hasn't taking the hesi yet. I am pretty sure some students here including myself had to rush to take the hesi so we could apply. I was enrolled in Micro and ENC last semester. The semester ended on April 29th and I took the hesi on May 12th and submitted my application in the same week. It really hurts me to know that I would have until June to take the hesi... It really does!

@saltycookie I'm not sure about that a lot applications are already in the process of being reviewed, maybe they will still be reviewing applications mid June but I'm sure they already started reviewing applications

I agree 100%...as stated nothing against those that are applying but to the ones that had everything in on time the wait can get the best of you...but good luck to ALLLLLLLL!!!!
