Hi everyone,

I've been a lurker on allnurses for years, and finally am finishing up school to move forward for my Associates at Broward. Unfortunately, they have totally thrown a monkey wrench in the pre-req requirements, and now I'm going to have to wait until Jan 2015 possibly to get into that program!!!!! I have all pre res done except for the new math, CHM and new Micro pre-req. This is devastating. I'm wondering though, is it possible to take the Micro and Lab in the summer and somehow slip in for the August 2014 program, or am i bananas?

The process packet is for class... There is a different orientation packet. Not sure what color it is.

Ok, thanks

Wow thanks!

No problem

I was going to head there tomorrow but from the looks of things I may not be in luck. This is a huge inconvenience for students that like to be prepared.

So I guess ill head back to the bookstore Friday then. This is kinda ridiculous. Why wait two days before class to have that stuff ready. I heard it was nothing more than like a packet they have to print out anyway.UGhhhhhh

yeah totally, especially when its required for the first day of classes. And if its not in this week, were gonna have to wait in long lines to get it. Been super lucky with the bookstore being a ghost town lately, but next week its gonna be insanity!!!!

Does anyone have the link to the PDF for the fundamentals textbook?

Thanks!

PDF? You want the book in e-format?

Under the 'recommended texts' in the booklist, did you guys buy any of those books? I am thinking of getting the fundamental and test success by Nugent alongside the Davis's NCLEX-RN success.

If you have it...sure! Trying to read the book and every time I get sleepy...

Olk an - I haven't gotten any of those yet, but plan to get the fundamentals of success.

Fellow South students, can anyone say if we are going to actually use all of the books and materials listed under the 'required textbooks and materials' section of the NUR1020 & NUR1020L syllabus?

Books you must have potter fundamentals and potter clinical skills, Jarvis, drug guide and comprehensive lab and diagnostic tests. You should get the success book Cox clinical diagnosis...I would recommend the med surg book 8th I saw a lot on Amazon for cheap. You need that for next semester but it makes care plans easier.

I am in the same situation and I emailed the Dean, but no answer yet.
