Hi everyone,
I've been a lurker on allnurses for years, and finally am finishing up school to move forward for my Associates at Broward. Unfortunately, they have totally thrown a monkey wrench in the pre-req requirements, and now I'm going to have to wait until Jan 2015 possibly to get into that program!!!!! I have all pre res done except for the new math, CHM and new Micro pre-req. This is devastating. I'm wondering though, is it possible to take the Micro and Lab in the summer and somehow slip in for the August 2014 program, or am i bananas?
We're doing what's best and it'll all pay off. I think by January my mind set and financial issues will be stable to start the program; no need to start the program stressed out and worried about other things. Especially since this program will already be enough stress once we start. I cried my eyes out when I made this decision on Friday, I even cried again this morning and I'll probably cry again next week lol but hey I think we're making the right choice.
Me too.. whenever I think about it I have to hold back tears!!! And don't ask me to talk about it out loud or the waterworks will start..... but this shows how bad we want this!!! Keep your motivation!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
You should defer ASAP because you're holding up a seat someone else could be having. You have to go to another orientation meeting as well. Someone will always put reading lists and book lists up. But more importantly. Take the times to get the paperwork together and get that out of the way. And just wait for the start date
Couldn't agree more. . .
For North Campus orientation tomorrow: I just have to print and bring the orientation package that they sent to me my email along with the booklist and the preadmission letter? Anything else?
You just need to take 2 copies of the orientation packet.
Straight from the email:
) Print 2 copies of each page and bring both copies with you to orientation
2) Review all documents prior to orientation
3) Make notes of any questions you have
4) During orientation session we will review all attached information and you will be able to ask questions
5) During orientation you will sign off on all documents
6) Once documents are signed they will become part of your nursing student file
Please note, if do not come to orientation with 2 copies of the orientation package you will NOT be permitted to stay for the session.
To those who went to Central's orientation. What did the guys wear? I know actually what I'll wear but I want to make sure.[/quote']People wore whatever the heck they wanted trust me. Girls were there in booty shorts and tanks, some wore the polo and jeans and guys wore shirts and jeans. Only one girl wore the scrubs and others came business casual. There was no talk about dress code at all, but check with your campus.
Got results for titers today from Dr365. I needed varicella, tetorifice and hep B. Im immune to mmr. The varicella is two series and each cost $65. The hep B is three and each one cost $125. The tetorifice is $90. In total today I paid $280 for three shots and have to go back in 30days for two more. I at least have everything I need for the portfolio and will submit on Thursday Gods willing. Just sharing so you all can have an idea of the cost of the vaccines/boosters.

Geez, what office did u go to? They told me 90 for the hep b and they never said it would be each and the tetorifice would be 65. Thats really expensive but at least its done now. Just went back to them today myself to do a physical since my drs. office sucks. Turning my things in tomorrow
I went to the one in Plantation. I will have to follow up on the price difference if that was the quote you received. I hope I did not mix up the Tet and Hep price but it is quite possible because my head was spinning as I told the receptionist by the time I am done with everything I need for school I will have to start a gofundme to buy my kids school supplies. Just told my daughter this morning she will have to use her back pack from last year because funds are tight, tight and tight right now.

OAN we have homework for NUR1020L that will be due Wednesday August 27th-Unit one and two from the STAT book. I am still confused about this course module objective we need as part of our portfolio. Also, when is the book store going to allow us to purchase the clinical hand out packet? I am also wondering it they will have enough spots in the physical assessment and skills workshop for all the students I saw there at orientation since they are only allowing 10 spots per workshop. And from my calculations there are only four workshops scheduled. Nursejackie.....HELLLLLLLPPPPPP!
