I am in California where there are slim to none in nursing jobs for new grads. I am highly considering leaving the state but am scared to venture out of California's nice nursing rations. What is the nursing ratio in your state??

I work on a cardiopulmonary unit in Dayton, OH. Our ratios are 4:1 days and 5:1 nights. We see post heart cath's, MI's, COPD'ers, and everything in between!

In our local hospital in CO it is 3:1 for days 4:1 for 2nd shift and 4-5:1 on third shift. They try to keep it to 4 on the third shift but rarely does it go past that. I have neighbors that work at the hospital as nurses, they are husband and wife and they verified this was correct. It's what the hospital lists as it's ratios on the nursing page. This is for med/surge according to my neighbors, more specialized areas are less but these are the maxes.
