ATL Residency Spring 2024

Published

Hi just wanted to start a thread for nurse residencies for Spring 2024 in Atlanta. I've applied to CHOA, Emory, Northside, NGMC, and Piedmont. Has anyone else applied or heard anything?

Specializes in Peds.

How did the conversation go with the recruiter? Did she ask questions? Did she give options on where to interview?

Hi everyone my graduation date is set for december 2024. I currently live in NY but I plan on relocating and doing a residency program in georgia. Does anyone know when I should start looking out for applications to open? Thanks in advance.

Hey, I just kept checking in daily and it seemed they all opened up from July-august time. I made all my profiles ahead of time and my resume ready to go. So far still waiting to see what happens. I have a few interviews so far so I'm excited and hoping for the best. I graduate December 23 so it should be the same situation for you ?

Thank you ?

No, I am thinking about trying to go in October or November. My school has us pretty tight right now with clinicals and preceptorship so I'm trying to see how I can make it over

That's higher than I expected! Do you know if they have night shift differentials? What was your interview process like? I'm from the Jax area so I'm a little nervous about relocating.

I put ED, oncology, and general peds as my top 3 but I still don't know where I would want to work.

Yes, I thought it was a good base so im happy with that, they do have night shift differentials so thats nice too.

Yeah relocating can be a scary transition but also a fun experience.

The interview process had a few steps, first the application, then they send a hirevue to do a few web questions(why choa?, why nursing? whats your preferred floors and why?). Then the recruiter will email to setup a conversation and just ask more about you. And then the recruiter sets up the interview with what is available and what you prefer. The interview was through a webcall. Lots of behavioral style questions so I would YouTube some and practice out loud. They were all super nice which was great.

I accepted an offer at Egleston— moving to Arthur Blank next fall. I wish there were a facebook group or something for the residency program! Maybe we could start one.
