ATI NCLEX Predictor?

Published

Anyone take this? It was mandatory for us to take it last week, and extra points given to our averages depending on what percentile we got.

I thought it was HARD but I did very well, surprisingly.

Has anyone taken both ATI and NCLEX? If so, which was easier?

we just took the ATI predictor today. It isn't CAT. My instructor came out to tell me I did really well on it, I wasn't impressed I only got a raw score of 78 but that was 99 percentile. I guess we only needed a 55 to pass and they gave us extra points on our average too. We had to take all the ATI tests all year long, and got the books, cds, etc. I never used any of the books, but I might review them a bit before NCLEX. I did use the practice tests for ATI though. The cd's were not that useful though, but ATI seems to be a pretty good program I guess.

thanks for the update, and congratulations!!:balloons:

Btw, how long/much did you study for NCLEX, what i'm getting at--surely the ATI didn't give you that much reassurance that you didn't study much, correct?

Erm, it kind of did. I know, naughty. I wouldn't recommend it. I just happen to be good at standardized tests. Honestly, I studied for about four hours total. Did another ATI assessment (200 questions) and then ran questions on the parts I was shaky on for a few hours. The thing is, I wouldn't stress studying knowledge areas unless you did absolutely horribly. There is just SO MUCH content that you'll never learn it all. Learn your ABGs, basic electrolytes (hyper/hyponatremia and kalemia) and learn how to outwit the test.

Took the ATI predictor and got 92nd national percentile. Took the NCLEX and I thought is was pretty easy (75 questions). For me they were both about the same level of difficulty. NCLEX just has more priority type questions. If you did good on ATI, dont stress over the NCLEX. DO study with the saunders CD though. I don't think I would have done so well had I not studied. I swear, just about every NCLEX question was a variable of the saunders questions.

ATI was a required purchase for every student in my nursing class. We had to get the books, cds, and access to all ATI tests.:uhoh3: I haven't taken NCLEX yet, scheduled for 7-7-06. I do feel like taking all of those test helped my test taking skills and it was a great refresher for info I misplaced somewhere in my brain.:lol2: I had to take all 3 predictor test and the proctored 3.0 exam was our final :angryfire and predited whether or not we passed. Thankfully I made a 78% and passed. According to ATI I have a 99% chance of passing NCLEX. I'll let you after I take boards if ATI was helpful...... I just purchased learning extension, which is a review put out by the NCSBN and so far I really like it.

Study hard and I'll be praying for you.:balloons:

:uhoh21: uh, thanks...:uhoh3:

If you get the chance, read the NCLEX discussion forum. The mod of that forum, Suzanne4, has a study plan for those taking either the NCLEX-RN or PN. Those who have used her plan have had excellent results with it. And it's free!

The NCLEX forum will prepare you for the NCLEX, and gives good advice such as "Don't freak out if the test goes passed 75 questions." As I said in another post, people fail with 75 questions, and people pass with 265 questions. Not to take away from this forum, but it'll really help people out.

Best of luck to everyone!

We have to pass with a 75% or we dont move into our final semester...take about pressure. I ordered the Saunders book to start studying. Test is Aug 14th

We did the ATI where I went to school also and the NCLEX was way easier than the ATI, but also way different than what they told us in school. I answered lots of knowledge based stuff on the ATI and on the NCLEX there were lots of priority questions. If you do well on the ATI then you should be okay on the NCLEX if you continue to review until you take it. I just took mine and PASSED! Good Luck

I am going to take my NCLEX soon as soon as the board clears me to take the test..I was wondering, does the practice online exams help in taking the NCLEX? I am doing 100 questions a day and understanding their resoning..Will that help me pass NCLEX?

I did practice questions most days for about 2 weeks before my test and I found that it was very helpful to me. I did questions from several different sources and found that in the end I was glad that I had. Good Luck

This is what is overwhelming me as I study for the Nclex.

Yes, like they ask you for a multiple multiple test question..Name some of the symtoms of left CHF...And they list the symtoms of right sided and left sided heart failure...
