Hey all!
So, to get as much info about what to expect once the nursing program starts, I read the book by Caroline Porter Thomas (empowern). In the book, she mentions using the ATI DVD's while she was in school. She said she would listen to them while driving (using a portable dvd player) or put them on while she was doing things like laundry.
Anyways, has anyone tried them? I thought that it was a great idea because I am a mom, etc. It would be wonderful to watch or listen to lectures while I cleaned house. I am questioning their usefulness because they cost $500. I don't mind spending the money if they are useful; but, that is a lot of money to waste if they are not helpful.
I tried searching the site, but I couldn't really find anything regarding their use during school. Info about using the NCLEX review, however, is plentiful. Any info would be greatly appreciated, thank you!!

I have no information for you on the ATI-DVD's because we never used ATI in our program. On the surface I think it wouldn't hurt but I wonder if you could select information on the DVD's that match what you are studying each week. On the other hand I would extremely suggest recording the classroom lectures and playing them back when you are jogging, cleaning house, or driving. This helped me so much. I usually listened to each lecture twice (besides the original in class). Just a suggestion.

Our nursing program used ATI and there weren't DVDs. There are a lot of computer video clips/movies though. They won't play on android or iPads though because ATI uses silverlight. We (students) didn't have to buy anything- I guess it was included in tuition costs. I definitely would NOT pay for it myself.
Thanks for the info!! I am having trouble finding them again on the ATI site. However, I did find them on amazon for $70. Unfortunately, they are from 2007 so I think I will pass LOL
This is a link to those DVDs. http://www.amazon.com/Leadership-Management-Maternal-Children-Medical-Surgical/dp/B006SZVD34/ref=sr_1_3?ie=UTF8&qid=1402322659&sr=8-3&keywords=ati+nursing+dvd
I plan to just record the lectures and then listen to them while multitasking :)
