I know this is a few weeks old but I just found this forum.
I'm also interested in this program but I don't have my CNA, yet. I've been trying to find an online RN program and was excited when I stumbled upon it yesterday.
I'm planning on doing the online CNA program this summer and HOPING that they'll consider my application for the AASN program this fall.
To answer the previous poster's question. I'm not positive but according to the website, you enroll at a tech center and do the labs there. The clinical part (of the CNA) can be completed at any approved healthcare facility. I would think that the AASN will be the same.
These programs are very new, the websites aren't even finished. They are still working out the details of the CNA program, the contact person said it would be another 2 weeks or so before I'll receive my packet.
Good luck.

how does a cna or an rn graduate without any hands on clinicals? i don't get it. i did the excelsior program but was an lpn for 23 years prior. i live in tennessee. where are these schools? the ones i know of who offer nursing don't offer it totally online. only the basic classess, psych, math, english, composition, history, etc...no actual nursing classes and certainly no online clinicals.
To jarenlynn-
They posted some new information on the website last night. It looks like both the CNA and RN programs will start in the Fall. It does say that it hasn't received full accreditation and won't until the first class graduates. I'm planning on entering Fall '09, I will take A&P1 and a math class this summer online so I'll be ready to apply in January.
To DutchgirlRN-
The clinicals are not done online, they are done at approved healthcare facilities and labs are done on the campus of your home school. The only part that is online is the theory section.
Compared to other online degree programs, it has much more to offer at a much lower price. You do go to labs and clinicals. You just do the classwork on your own. And the way I see it, we'll be doing labs and clinicals with other students so we can also do study groups. The only difference is that I don't have to take time away from work and family to attend lectures.

i'm sorry that i missed the fact that you will have hands on clinicals. good luck with the program.

the nursing school here, which is nln approved, just graduated their first class that went all online, other than clinicals. they had the same clinicals as all the other students, but everything else was online. it got mixed reviews from the students. the idea was to open up the program to more students while addressing the instructor shortage. it doesn't work for everyone, but most seemed to like it.

Most of it is online with the exception of the science classes. You only have to be a CNA or any other medical experience to get in. AND...the gpa is 2.75 instead of 3.4! Woo-Hoo! I am going to go for it.
