Hmmm, dont think I can do a Hugh Grant accent but I have got a tartan bunnet with a ginger wig and I do a mean Billy Connelly accent if that'll do...

oh, and dont get me started on the weather.........

Lisa

We want pictures of your bunnet!! When my Scottish bil got up to make his speech at his Australian wedding, all 'our' side put their ginger bunnets on!Made great video!! Nothing like a Scots/Aussie Wedding for drunken hilarity!

oh my, MORE lingo to learn...l am in heaven!...what, pray tell(in my very best hillbilly/Hugh Grant accent) is a tartan bunnet and a ginger wig?........Congrats on the new forum!........hope you don't mind a foreign invasion now and then.....:rotfl:......LR

Welcome, welcome, welcome lr!!! the more the merrier!!!

Going to try and find a picture of a bunnet for you,but in the meantime its a corruption of the word "bonnet", the Scots accent makes it sound like bunnet! The particular hat we're referring to,is also known as a "Jimmy Bunnet"and is a joke hat, usually with wig attached.

The ginger wig is because of the stereotypical image of the Scots all having red hair.

Any other lingo you need,we'll be happy to translate for you.

Hope you are recovering from your surgery, did you do any "body-art" for the or team?;)

Well, l chickened out, my last words to the surgeon were..keep me coverd up!.....he said they get kind of mad when he cuts holes in the gowns...ahh well, with enough MS you can endure anything!...l am feeling much better now thanks....go back to work on the 5th.....hope their not STILL laughing!...LOL...LR

a former prime minister wearing a "Jimmy Bunnet"!!

cool pic....thanks for posting...now l want to see YOU in your bunnet!....LR

Just changed the pic to a clearer one lr,sadly no pictures of me in a bunnet because although the daughter and wife of Scotsmen,I myself am English, and therefore am excused!!!!!

OR thought i had!!

hang on picture coming eventually

l.rae, unfortunately I dont have my own 'bunnet' to take a pic of and show you but I will try to find you a picture from somewhere.

They really are quite ridiculous, mostly worn by football supporters to show how their ''mad-scotsmen'', or as part of a fancy dress costume.

Fortunately I dont have or have ever had, anything tartan in my wardrobe, I do have a very Scottish surname though so that more than makes up for it.
