Hello! I am new to this website. I am new graduate RN with BSN and in the process of joining the Army nurse corps. I have been waiting for this time to join the military. I want to serve the country and be a productive US citizen. I am naturalized citizen. Anyway, I have been contacting my recruiter by email and phone call to ask when I have to do my physical exam, but I got no response. He told me last month that he will schedule my physical exam, but I still have not heard anything from him since then. Is recruiter usually don't response to the applicant? I just now getting started with the process and seems like a little bit frustrating, especially if the recruiter is no way to contact.
I will explore this website to get more information about Army nurse. To all military nurses, I salute what you do and have so much respect with you guys. Wish me luck to my enduring process joining the Army.

Your post sounds like alot of post on this site. Not only do they recruit nurses but other healthcare professionals. Since there are plenty of nurse applicants they could be spending their time trying to get the others.

As Jeck mentioned recruiters often have a LOT more duties that we don't see.. combined with almost no slots for nurses compared to the number of applicants... its really a effort of futility in some cases I'm sure.... + summer time you might have a recruiters doing training or having new recruiters left / right seat ride with recruiters leaving the unit... at the same time i feel your frustration! Its hard to have to rely on a process that you view as unresponsive when you really want to join / move towards that goal....

Filled-quota cold shoulder I am guessing...wait till the end of the fiscal year. Unless of course the budget and slot allotment takes a dive too.

shhhhhhhhhhhhhhhh....... positive thoughts only!!! some of us have waited for the next fiscal year for a long time now!
op: from what i know, the army has filled all of its nursing quotas this fiscal year (maybe one or two are open) so this gives you a little more time to complete your application. keep bugging your recruiter and continue to do what you can on your own.
Haha I didn't mean to be a Debbie downer, just the info I have heard form my counselor and battalion recruiter.
Thank you for all replies..I realize after exploring this forum that I'm not the only one getting a "cold shoulder" from "unmotivated recruiter":lol2:..Most of all, lots of military nurses went to frustration of the application process... I will keep my positive thoughts and keep myself busy working as a Med/Surg nurse at the civilian world..I love being a nurse although sometimes I feel like I am not appreciated by my patients...but that's okay..I understand nursing is not "roses" all the time..Very interesting forum and tons of info..
