Army Nurse Corps FY2013

Specialties Government

Published

Hey everybody, I'm starting a thread here for those applying to the Army Nurse Corps in FY2013. I figure this might be a good place to get to know other future nurse corps officers and a place for the veterans of the ANC to pass on some advice.

Share your story and hopefully we will meet down in San Antonio this Winter/spring of 2013

Ill start with my story,

I am a 28 y/o critical care nurse with 2 years experience in a level 2 trauma center in Virignia. I passed MEPS at Ft. Eustis and have submitted security packet, letters of reference and letter of intent.

I am applying to the October review board for Active Duty Army Nurse Corps for the 66H8A(critical care) and 66T(trauma) programs( I am not sure if they are still running this one, but you don't get what you don't ask for).

I am happily married with a baby on the way, my wife is 100% behind a move the Army and I feel blessed to have her love and support.

The road to the Army has been a long one with a degree in Biology, stint as a drug rep and return for an accelerated BSN.

I love being a nurse and love working in critical care. I hope to serve my country in uniform treating service members & their families at home and in forward deployed units.

I want to be an critical care nurse and officer in the U.S. Army and I hope that I will get to meet all of you in uniform at BOLC, at MEDDAC, CSH or FST in CONUS or OCONUS.

Here's to all us achieving our dreams of becoming Army Nurses!

Still waiting on paperwork but hopefully this week will have a contact signed. Since my constructive credit changed with the Nov board they had to redo my scroll process. Feb 28 for pre-bolc and then March 14 for Bolc has to happen cause i would start school in June.

I am selected and still waiting to be scrolled....still waiting.... I too was hoping to go in March but maybe it's gonna be July at this point.

OML for active duty, ranked #1, if not pulled off of OML, will commission in feb/march in reserves

Let's get a roll call. Everyone that still checks here, that has taken part in this thread, just type out a few lines of where you are in the process, any school dates, OML list# that kind of thing. Maybe it will help everyone heading to BOLC know who to look for. My Wife is selected LoI signed, contract signed but still waiting on the contact from the branch manager, and any school dates. As far as I know her security clearance hasn't post yet either.

I am on the OML for USAGPAN. Somewhere near #6 on the list and supposed to hear something NLT 10 JAN. *fingers crossed*

I didn't get scrolled until the first week of January when I was selected, and I still made the March BOLC. It's definitely possible!

My Scroll came through today on my packet, it was approved on the 20th of Dec, so I am not sure why it took so long to show up... I believe I am #3 on the OML and I should be coming off soon hopefully. My recruiter said we ware just waiting on an official memo to be released with the names of those pulled off the USAGPAN OML. I have my letter of intent printed and ready to go all it needs is a signature and a date.

Hello Everyone,

I also signed the LOI and i am signing the contract this thursday. I also hope to get the orders for BOLC on March.

well I'm running into a few issues. Somehow HRC thinks I am in the IRR. Something to do with being attached to APMC is messing up the process. HRC says they cant help, my command says talk to the recruiter. I'm drilling with the local unit this weekend. The recruiter says that once I turn in the forms for getting paid for drill with another unit everything will get fixed.

No idea on a date for BOLC. I was not able to get a CAC either, just an ID card. There is a nicely framed commission on the wall though!

I will keep you all posted.

-you have to get your own cac reader which you can buy at your PX or online.

-make sure they set you up with AKO, mypay

-if you are reserve, sign up for phase 1 in ATRRS then you do the course work in ALMS (within "My Training" section of AKO)

-make sure you know who your counselor will be

i cant think of anything else right now but I'll post more if anything.

I myself am working on phase 1 online then BOLC phase 2 (whenever that is). I wish I'm doing bolc as active duty as oppose to reserve lol

Hi everyone:

Still wasting away on the OML list LOL....recruiter has no news for me. On the last phone call he said when he hears something he'll let me know.

Interestingly enough I was told I was #3 on the OML as well....

Hopefully we hear news this week :)
