Hi,

has anyone else applied for the army nurse corps reserves for the 2016 fy. My packet goes to the selection board in October. Does anyone know how many applicants they are taking, or have any information on what they really look for during the selection process?

Hi all,

I'm new to this, anyone else waiting on getting scrolled?

hey guys i just want to know whats the average time for the processing from application to being commisioned. can you share your application experience. thanks

I commissioned last year in the Reserves, but I figured I could at least give you an estimate. My packet was thrown together for the May board and I commissioned in mid-June. I didn't actually start drilling until October.

wow that was fast. i wonder if active duty is the same thing. i guess OR nurses are really in demand in the army

Waiting on waiver for June board. Going to 66ha8, critical care. Was just curious as to whether there is a need for critical care nurses and if so does that play a role in the waive process. Thanks, mike

66H8A (ICU) is now referred to as 66S. :) The needs of the Army always plays a role in waivers. Good luck!

They are offering 75k bonuses for 66S right now. They just announced it at my most recent drill. Make sure to ask and good luck!

Thanks everyone for the fast response. Yea I received the 75k special bonus for years 1-3 and 50k for student loan repayment for years 4-6. I was curious of those offers are commensurate with the needs for 66S? Thanks again in advance

If they are offering bonuses, they have a need! I seem to recall someone else mentioning a shortage in critical care and the bonuses being offered for 66S. But I'm a 66T, so I'll just sit over on the civilian side for now. :D

well that's good news. I appreciate your input Pixie.RN. we shall see how this pans out.

another questions that came to mind today. the fact that the recruiter is gong for a waiver for me does that mean i stand a chance at getting one? in other words does my recruiter have the autonomy to say this is not waiverable and stop processing me? does she have a line of communication to those in power who make the decisions on waivers? the waiting process can stir one's mind. thanks for the help in advance

The recruiter can not make a decision one way or the other about a waiver. All the two of you can do is wait.
