Army Direct Commission FY12

Just wondering if anyone else is preparing their packet for the upcoming selection board?

Im working on mine, but I am concerned, confused about the process and the timeline...Trying to just get together what the recruiter is asking for!

Are you applying for the active duty board? I ask because I'm pretty sure the deadline for submission has passed (Oct 18 according to my recruiter).

Also, as far as I know, they are not selecting anyone without two years of nursing experience for active duty right now. Docteri, aren't you just finishing your RN?

I was just informed today by my recruiter that my packet has been officially completed and will be submitted to the board next Tuesday! Apparently there was a close call with the Reserves last week too. They sent out a memo saying that no one would be released to active duty, DA 368 or no. They then made the decision that since they are also over strength with AMEDD soldiers that it didn't really matter and is now making an exception just for AMEDD applicants. Whew! Now, I wait :).

Good luck ArmyRN789! I'll be patiently waiting also.

Wooo hooooo!! Excited for you folks, keep us posted!

Today is the day! Good luck, everyone.

IM applying active duty, but Im not done with my bsn so things are like in reverse for me. I do not think she can send me to "a board" until the nclex is passed!

What about the requirement for two years of RN experience? Your package would have been due a couple of weeks ago for today's board...

I know, but I am hoping that we get a president who like the military....wing and a prayer thing. I am not graduated yet. All I can do is try. Of course I will keep working and hopefully sell my practice and work as an RN until I am selected.

GOOD LUCK ALL!!!

Hi everyone! Thanks for posting all of the helpful comments/information. I am also playing the waiting game for the ANC board. I can't stop thinking about the selection process. I am also very nervous. My recruiter told me I should find out in a couple of weeks but I anticipate it may be more....just to be on the safe side. Good luck to everyone!

Actually, I have heard it won't take long at all! They probably have fewer packets submitted than last year and it took them only a couple of weeks to finish then!
