Just wondering if anyone else is preparing their packet for the upcoming selection board?

Specializes in EMT, ER, Homehealth, OR.

You learn as you go. It will be about 2-3 months after you are selected by the board you will recieve orders to your unit. Once you start drilling your unit will put you in for BOLC.

Ah, ok. They must have a different board for Reserves then.

Just wanted to say GOOD LUCK to all of you!! What a very exciting yet extremely stressful time!! Was where you are two years ago for Reserve boards and again last year for Active boards. SOOOOOOO stressful!! Keep your heads up and I hope nothing but the best for all!!!

So, New1LT, did you get into the Reserves and then apply for Active Duty?

Yes, I commissioned in the Reserves and then came on Active this year. What route are you going? I know they changed the requirements for coming on Active.

Did the same route 2 years ago. Not sure of the changes other then needing 2 years of experience.

What I really want is to go Active Duty, but since they changed the minimum requirement to 2 years experience, I decided to apply for Reserves and then once I get a few more years experience try for Active Duty.

Its kind of a drag that I'd have to do the whole application process over again to go Active duty, but I'm so willing to do it to reach my goal.

keep at it, in the end it will be worth it.

My AMEDD recruiter told me that the first selection board will meet on October 18th for the new Fiscal Year. I know that's different than some of the others. I'm wondering if there's a different selection board for Reserve and Active (I'm going for Reserve).

Just waiting to finish up my packet now. Only have a couple of more forms to sign and I'll be good...hopefully.:bowingpur lol

Yes there is different selection boards for Active and Reserves. Your AMEDD recruiter was right.

So does anyone know when the active duty board meets?

Specializes in Public Health and Surgery.

I'm applying to the board as a 66B-that is if they say I have been a community health nurse long enough :o
