Army AMEDD DCC 2021

Published

New 1LT 66S here, awaiting orders from HRC (activation orders and commissioning already done). Can anyone who has completed Army DCC in the last year PLEASE shed some light on your experience? Especially about the daily PT, the APFT, the diagnostic ACFT, etc.  I see a lot of questions and answers about "when" people plan to go or what DCC is, but not any insight on the experience itself. Especially during COVID.

Thanks!

I just contacted the gentleman that schedules classes and my packet didn't even make it to his desk yet.

Was the guy you contacted the Nurse Corps Branch Manager?

This was the title under his signature:

Not planning on calling unless I absolutely have to if I’m waiting forever, but how did you get the info? Did he email when he receives all your documents?

Through the grapevine. Someone on RP gave me his info today ? definitely won’t be hassling him. Need to make sure everything is square with my d/c orders from reserves.

Ahh okay haha. I’ll try to see if I can get info on the 66S manager when/if the time comes.

There is a new Army Nurse mentorship group on FB. I recommend you join. It's private so you have to request to get in but you will if you are at least already commissioned. Orders or not. There is a wealth of info through the people in there. It called US ARMY NURSE CORPS OFFICER MENTORSHIP.

I met the commander of the ICU course in there as well and she reached out to give me a heads up on the class. Everyone is very nice and willing to help.

He covers all LTs, regardless of MOS. Are you going in as CPT?

Thinking about creating a FB just for these groups! Someone else told me about it too and it sounds like a great forum. I deleted FB like 6 years ago because it was a black hole for me ?

Thank you for this fb group, as I have been looking for something to get answers in!

anyway I’m a 66H reservist and go to DCC in June and BOLC in august. I already have seats in both. From looking at DCC’s fb page, they are still doing quarantine, but I think by June it may be over. Oklahoma lifted the mask mandate sooooo who knows if the army will follow.

My commission took a while too. I started the process in January 2019 and finally commissioned May 2020 and joined my unit November 2020.
