  1. Are you going AD as an FNP? My goal is to do the STRAP program to get my FNP and go AD when I’m done. But I can’t find anyone that is an AD FNP and can tell me how that life is.
  2. Yes, I have the same DCC report date, but for BOLC I report august 8th I believe. Is AD BOLC longer? That will be a quick turn around for you since we graduate DCC on July 12th LOL And I’m coming from Germany, so I want orders and everything set up well in advance! They told me I won’t get orders until about 3 weeks out. My kids will be flying to the states with me, so I’m hoping they can get them to a little sooner than 3 weeks out.
  3. Thank you for this fb group, as I have been looking for something to get answers in! anyway I’m a 66H reservist and go to DCC in June and BOLC in august. I already have seats in both. From looking at DCC’s fb page, they are still doing quarantine, but I think by June it may be over. Oklahoma lifted the mask mandate sooooo who knows if the army will follow. My commission took a while too. I started the process in January 2019 and finally commissioned May 2020 and joined my unit November 2020.
  4. Yeah we don’t do anything but classes online really LOL we had the range last month but I couldn’t do anything. But learned some stuff. I’m not prior enlisted either, but by the time I go to dcc I’ll hopefully be ahead of the game! And good luck!! My husband has been active for almost 17 years now, so we’ve been many places. Although he’s not medical. We are currently in Germany!
  5. I’m a reservist. I’ve been to drill already for November and December
  6. I signed up for June. I’m a school nurse at the moment, and have no long term sub. June was the only date that I could swing and not have to have a sub for a long period of time. It also helps because I will be paid by the army and the school during my absence. It works out for me this way. It only sucks, because it prolongs my time to get promoted.
  7. I was on the OML for like 4 months. It just depends on how many slots get filled. I haven’t been to dcc or BOLC yet ( I go to dcc in June) but from what I have heard and seen on fb it’s definitely not like basic! Dcc has a fb page I would look that up also, I would definitely start working out now though my unit is doing acft familiarization every 3 months or do for the next year. I passed my first one, but I CrossFit so it was not too bad for me Definitely go prepared!
  8. Following as I go in June.
  9. I’m heading to DCC in June! I guess I’ll see you there!
  10. Sounds like they probably didn't want to do the work or something LOL and sorry if that sounded harsh, I just read it back. But I have learned that every recruiter is different and some just don't care and some will go above and beyond to help! I definitely didn't want to commission as a 66H, but I'm hoping to change my AOC in a couple of years.
  11. Not True. I just commissioned as a med surg nurse and have NEVER worked on a med surg floor. I have worked in a GI lab and now as a school nurse. I would definitely just talk to an AMEDD recruiter and see what they say
  12. I'm interested in how you got to do the 66T school! I wanted to go in for OR nurse, but they wouldn't take my experience in an outpatient GI lab as OR experience even though in the hospital I was at considered it surgical services. Anyway, I'm a 66H and have never worked a day in my career as a med surg nurse! I live in germany currently and was going to wait until we move back stateside to try to figure out how to change my AOC. I'm also wanting to go back to school for my FNP.
  13. I had to do the same in August. I signed my letter of intent, and then a few weeks later I finally got my orders! Now I’m trying to get my PHA taken care of before I go to drill in November! I just bought a uniform today! LOL it’s been crazy! Especially since I’m not prior service. I bet you get your orders soon!
  14. Oh I hav no idea LOL I never heard my recruiter say anything about a scroll. I was on the OML at first back in February, and then got picked up off the OML to commission. Maybe it just means that they are holding a spot for you, but had to wait until your waiver cleared? I didn’t need any waivers so I’m not sure how that works.
  15. Like the above said start the process now! I just commissioned in May and it was about 14 months total (I’m army reserves). I’m still waiting on orders since May also! Covid happening didn’t help anything. good luck! I just swore in in May also! Still waiting on orders to my unit. Did you get orders yet?
