March Banner Informational Session

U.S.A. Arizona

Published

Hi All,

I was wondering if any of you were planning to attend the March Banner informational session for the Nurse Fellows program at Gateway? I will be unable to make it this time, and was wanting to know if there was any new information about the program discussed at the March session. If so can you please post an update for those of us who are still interested but unable to make it please?:)

Thank you all:yeah:

I go to gateway now and saw that some of the info sessions are being canceled. Your best bet is to check the website and call the info number (or contact GatewayCC) to get a current schedule.

HI OCD MOM,

On both Banner and MCC's web page they both state that January and February informational sessions were cancelled but so far they are still set for a session on March 23rd.

Being that the first 2 information sessions were cancelled this year, I'm sure there will be a plethora of attendees at the info session next week. You are probably aware if you don't attend the session, you can not receive an application to apply... Anyways, I would check back next week after the session, I know there are some other banner threads that people will post to with the updates as I am sure lots of people are very curious. Best of luck to you.

I'll be attending & I'll be happy to post any info I get at the session.

Thank you so much for replying, I thought we would be home by now, but it's looking like we will have to spend more time in California a loved one has taken a turn for the worse:crying2: Any new information you can post will be greatly appreciated.

Thank you again

I was unable to attend this informational session, for those of you who did go. What was the information given? I am so anxious! Thank you!

Still waiting, no word from anyone yet. Maybe later tonight someone will post:rolleyes:

Each cohort (March, July, October) will only have 30 people, and they will all be at Gateway. The July cohort is a part time cohort that is 2 nights a week, with clinicals on Saturdays. The deadline is April 2nd and I don't believe older applications will be accepted. March and October are the 16 month accelerated programs. You must have a 3.0 GPA on your pre-reqs to be considered, and your NET scores must be 70+ (overall, reading, and math) Critical thinking 60+. OR HESI A2 with at least 80+ on math and reading, and 600+ critical thinking. Also, there is a 300 or less word essay you submit with your application. They are hoping to eventually eliminate mandatory info sessions and put everything online but no timeline on this yet. Application deadline for October cohort is June 18th. Hope this helps. Best of luck, it seems like the Banner program is a great program.

Wow, thank you so much. This was the top and best option for me, but I guess no more:crying2: I will hopefully get into one of the MCC programs in late 2011:crying2: Best of luck to everyone else who has or will be applying.

To add to kf_az82s info, there's a 3 year contract in which all tuition is paid (minus uniforms and other incidentals). If they don't have a job for you after graduation, you would be released from the contract and still not have to pay back tuition. I was pleased with the info on nursing careers after an initial position with Banner. Mgmt, education, etc.

Oh, and they mentioned allnurses.com several times. Seems like they spend quite a bit of time on here reading. Take that as you will.

Thank you both for that information. Can I ask please if they made mention of the people who have already turned in their applications for the July cohort?

Thank you
