March Banner Informational Session

U.S.A. Arizona

Published

Hi All,

I was wondering if any of you were planning to attend the March Banner informational session for the Nurse Fellows program at Gateway? I will be unable to make it this time, and was wanting to know if there was any new information about the program discussed at the March session. If so can you please post an update for those of us who are still interested but unable to make it please?:)

Thank you all:yeah:

Yes, but it was to direct questions, so it was limited info. They did mention several times that they are in a phase of transition and they would not require people who had already taken the NET to take the HESI or answer questions as well as submit an essay.

So, what I gather from that is if you had already submitted everything for the July cohort, you are probably good to go.

Probably wouldn't hurt to confirm that with Banner though.

Thank you so much, I will be back this weekend, and I know that's cutting it short for their April 2nd deadline, so all I can do is hope and pray.

Thank you

Crystal

They did say that though they REALLY want everybody's apps in by April 2nd, they would be accepting them as late as April 16th. So, if there's no way you can make the 2nd, get it in ASAP.

My status page through MCC say's my Banner App was received on February 22nd, I was just really concerned about the new changes and how they would affect someone like me who already turned it in. I will take your advice though and call Banner later today:)

Crystal, can you post what they state about people who previously applied? They received my app Jan 5th so you and I are in the same boat. That way they are not flooded with calls from all of us out there, looks like they have enough on their plate. Transition is difficult let alone all the freaked out people calling to top it off.

Thank you ever so much :redpinkhe

I will be happy to update as soon as I hear from them. I have put in a call to both Banner and district office of MCC. My application still hasn't been forwarded to Banner, when I initially called the district office I was advised that Banner has not called for the applications to be sent to them as of yet, so all the applications that have been submitted for the July cohort like yours and mine are still at the district office. Hope that helps for now, but like you said I am sure they are flooded right now with tons of questions. So I will have to wait and see, but as soon as I hear I will post:)

hi micajoielac,

just recieved word today from banner and i am posting the email they sent me, i hope this helps answer some of you guys questions who are in the same boat as us who have the old app and have already turned it in:)

sorry we've been playing phone tag. you're application from dec 09 will be fine. we're accepting the old and new ones because tons of you guys had turned in the application before our march session. we will be imposing the new requirements on all applicants (and i'll tell you what they are, but they really aren't new...we were always applying these rules to apps in the past, but now we're just telling students so they can avoid applying if they have no chance of getting in). here are the new requirements:

* minimum gpa of 3.0

* minimum net scores: overall - 70; reading - 70; critical thinking - 60 (average the three areas); and math - 70.

let me know if you have any other questions
