ARE YOU SCARED TO SARS £¿
Hey, I thought we were up to 30 million;) Which would still make us a small town by Chinese standards I'm sure:)
JMP,
I heard that those not in patient care areas might be able to stop wearing masks in the hospital soon.... I hope it's true. Sitting in a classroom is bad enough without a mask
My dad was saying that once sars hits third-world nations that lack the health care of larger nations, that is where and when the disease will get out of hand. But how many of them travel abroad when they can not even afford food or water? I honestly do not know what to think about this "epidemic". I would like to hear more thoughts about this situation from people from around the world still.
Thanks.

I wish you guys could read this great article in The Wall Street Journal by a Donald S. Burke MD. Unfortunately it is only avaliable to those that subscribe. He says there is a chance, but only a chance, that the disease can be eradicated by next winter. He called this first visitation a HERALD visitation. He says virus outbreaks of this type usualy make a small pass in late winter early spring. The following winter they come back big time. He says if we don't stop it now the next wave will be terrible. He also mentioned the possiblity of an outbreak in third world dense populations. An outbreak of this nature would be unstopable. The good news is that it is possible to stop it in it's tracks right now. This is a quote, "For the moment, chance is on our side. But we have just six months to complete the job of the global eradication of the SARS coronavirus. Ater that, when the seasonal epidemic flares next year, it will be too late." He also mentions that the light traditional flu season has made the outbreak easier to contain. If the traditional flu has a bad outbreak next year things are going to get confused.
