My two biggest pet peeves on here:

am i a member of the grammar police?? not only am i a member, i am the founder of that organization!

didn't you know?;)

ps: #1 sends me into orbit! definately!

I am definitely a grammar cop! I have to say, what bothers me most on all nurses are posts which seem like they have really valuable/insightful content, but are simply too hard to "decode". I feel sympathy for those whose input gets lost or overlooked due to poor (terrible) writing.

I also wonder if some of the difficulty getting hired is due to this same terrible writing. It doesn't reflect your ability to be a nurse, but it's an easy way to weed through hundreds of applications.

your/you're drives me nuts!

hippa also drives me nuts.

what drives me the most nuts, however, is a long continuous paragraph with no punctuation or capitalization. sorry, if that's your post, i'm not reading it.

dear blondy, check your private messages. i sent one to you.

Also: the onez tht driv me nuts r the onez tht typ msgs lk they txtng, u knw wht Im sayn, lol!!!

I try to be understanding, but it's certainly something that I find myself noticing.

We discussed this one in a previous thread I think: I'm even okay with people who are doing something definately, but for Pete's sake, please don't do it defiantly.

I'm not a grammar nazi per se, but I do ask that whatever is written at the very least be legible. I can't tell you how much it irks me to see multiple mispellings, multiple words missing, and so little punctuation that the entire paragraph looks to be one sentence!

Yes, I did notice :D

What I meant, was the correcting poster usually throws in the word mispell and it is one of those words very often misspelled.

Aside from all the previous words mentioned, that is my pet peeve..........lol

Ahhh..I see...I wasn't in on the ongoing joke. :)

Ironically, I started a job today as an editor! So where do I sign up for my AN Grammar Police badge?

My main pet peeves are the wrong form of its/it's, were/where, your/you're, they're/their/there, and there's tons more. I've been known to text my mom back if she spelled something wrong if a text, when she comments, I just say "you were the one who supported a journalism degree" lol

Another thing that really bugs me, and a lot of people do this, is not putting the period in the right spot when using quotes. They always go inside the quote, fyi ;) "I like to watch TV," she said "then go to mall."

It's not one of the worst, but alot vs. a lot.

I really love this website: Hyperbole and a Half: The Alot is Better Than You at Everything

It's one person's coping mechanism for typing and grammatical errors on the internet.
