Please give a shout out if you are a grammar or spelling cop!
My two biggest pet peeves on here:
(1) Definately
(2) HIPPA (I have been known to publicly reprimand the offenders!!)
There are others, but enough for now ... what are YOUR contributions? I know your out there (and YES I did that on purpose) ...

am i a member of the grammar police?? not only am i a member, i am the founder of that organization!
didn't you know?
ps: #1 sends me into orbit! definately!
I am definitely a grammar cop! I have to say, what bothers me most on all nurses are posts which seem like they have really valuable/insightful content, but are simply too hard to "decode". I feel sympathy for those whose input gets lost or overlooked due to poor (terrible) writing.
I also wonder if some of the difficulty getting hired is due to this same terrible writing. It doesn't reflect your ability to be a nurse, but it's an easy way to weed through hundreds of applications.
Ironically, I started a job today as an editor! So where do I sign up for my AN Grammar Police badge?
My main pet peeves are the wrong form of its/it's, were/where, your/you're, they're/their/there, and there's tons more. I've been known to text my mom back if she spelled something wrong if a text, when she comments, I just say "you were the one who supported a journalism degree" lol
Another thing that really bugs me, and a lot of people do this, is not putting the period in the right spot when using quotes. They always go inside the quote, fyi "I like to watch TV," she said "then go to mall."

This is a very good book, too
It's not one of the worst, but alot vs. a lot.
I really love this website: Hyperbole and a Half: The Alot is Better Than You at Everything
It's one person's coping mechanism for typing and grammatical errors on the internet.
