Are any of you using an ipad with stylus to take notes?

Good day:

Are any of you using an ipad with stylus to take notes? If yes, which ipad (full, mini), and which stylus? What app(s) do you use for note taking, note management, etc?

How is using an ipad working out for you compared to using regular pen and pencil?

Are there times you miss using pen/pencil and paper? What are those circumstances?

Do you find yourself using pen/pencil and paper for some things still? If yes, what?

Thank you for your time.

My instructors email all of us the PowerPoint presentations and I pull it up on notability on my iPad. I love it ! I can highlight and make notes right on the slide or outline.

Me! I use an iPad and stylus (the Jot Pro - it's amazing!)

I use Notability to record lectures while I annotate my powerpoints. Some days I feel like printing out the powerpoints with the lines for note taking and taking notes with real pen and paper, but I always have the slides uploaded to my iPad as well so I have access to them all the time. No matter where I am, I can have all my stuff with me.

I keep copies of EVERYTHING (handouts, PPs, syllabi, assignments) organized in Evernote, too. I'm a "hard copy" tactile kind of person, so I print most things as well, but having everything in one place online is priceless.

Are Ipads the best to have as nursing students?

I am looking to purchase a Ipad or tablet of some sort before I start in January.

Any suggestions/comments would be greatly appreciated!:)

Personal preference. I have an iPad and my best friend has a surface tablet. Both work great. She has a PC at home and I have a Mac & a PC. I love how my iPad syncs with my iphone. I also have a keyboard for my iPad and I like typing my notes rather than writing them. She also prefers typing. Good luck in whatever you choose!

It's a beautiful day to save lives.

Eh. Who's to say what's best? I have an IPad because I had an iPhone and wanted all my stuff to sync. I like it. I'd love it, but the lack of flash has proven to be a bit of an annoyance, as is Apple's refusal to repair things. A cracked screen ended up costing me $300 to replace because all they would do was replace the entire tablet at a slight discount. Repairing it anywhere else would've voided the warranty.

I just won a Surface in a sweepstakes (woot!), so I'll get compare the two and see which I like better.

Good day, Stephalump:

It would be neat to know the difference.

Thank you.

I have an ipad and a surface...to be honest, i like the surface than the ipad. Just because its like having a laptop/desktop in a tablet..you can do anything u want w/o limitations unlike ipads

I don't have an ipad, but I have adapted my main computer with the wacom bamboo with stylus. The reasons for adapting is not for speed because I type faster than a write, however, I find writing it helps be remember easier that typing because I'm a visual learner and I use it for pencasting. I do hand written notes in class but I rather not use pen and paper because often I'd just loose my written notes and don't go over them and I think its just wasting paper. The ipad or surface with stylus sounds like a good idea for me to get.

Good day, jofapcastillo:

Why do you like the Surface more than the iPad?

Thank you.
