Hello,
I would like some information on the program, how do you like it? Would you pick this school again if you had the chance? I am applying to the program that is being held here in San Diego. I am nervous about the online portion of the program, is it do-able?
Thanks!
I did get my financial aid letter. Did anyone else get an Alternative Loan? Any idea what that means, exactly? We have to apply for a loan through a lender? Also, did anyone use EMSI for their background check? I paid online, but the guy at EMSI said that I didn't have to pay (I thought it was going to cost extra). Maybe I did this all wrong :stone
Thanks!
I was confused about the ALT loan as well but if you look on the back in the comment section it gives you instructions, look up the website and go through the list of lenders and apply for the loan. I chose WellsFargo, looked like to me that they had the best interest rate. I just applied for that yesterday, hopefully I'll hear soon. I also put them down as my lender for the other loans that are not coming from the school. I called the fin.aid office and they said the nursing one and stafford comes directly from OUHSC.
Is that the company they told you to do it through? They gave us the information and it cost $75 when it was all said and done. The website is www.clinicalbgscreening.com
Hopefully this helps!

On the the blue checklist, the had EMSI down as one of the drug testing sites. I probably should have gone down to Chula Vista, but I was meeting with Phyllis so EMSI seemed easier. Maybe not after all. Did you turn in the Disclosure Form? Do you know if we give this to Phyllis or to Sharp?
Thanks for your help!!!

The Disclosure form you would fax to American Data Bank. From my understanding we don't give anything to the school. American Data Bank will submit everything to Sharp. That's what I did. I faxed it to ADB, and they emailed me saying
" Thank you for using American Databank's background check service for the
healthcare program at your school.
We have received your disclosure and release form for the background check.
Your background check will be completed as quickly as possible and the
results will be sent to authorized personnel at your school.
Thank you!

Sorry, I forgot about that, duh!! Ok, gotcha now. I personally didn't go to EMSI I went to Quest in Mission Valley, it was free and it was only five minutes. I turned in the disclosure form to Phyllis at orientation per her instructions. I too received an email from American Databank that they received it and then Phyllis mailed it back to me.
I haven't received mine in the mail yet, but I logged into the self service link on the financial aid site and it was on there.I too have Alternative Loan.. no idea what that means. Does the letter explain anything in detail?
The letter tells you to go to this website to choose a lender and apply: http://w3.ouhsc.edu/sfs/Lenderlist/Private.htm
Good luck!!

I was looking at that. Did you apply for the Wells Fargo MedCap Loan? That seemed like the most reasonable one out of the rest. Will you have someone cosign you?
I will have to do more research and hope I get approved!!!
Thanks!

Yes, I chose the MedCap one. I haven't heard if I need a co-signer, I hope not! I hope I get approved too! Good luck!
