It has been a long road to relocation to the US and hopefully we are nearly there.
What are my expectations of our new life.
I have three small boys and a georgeous hubby and in the UK we never go to the pub in the evening and can only really afford one holiday a year this year we went to spain costa lotta as the DH calls it any way holiday was ruined by the drunken british who have over taken the costa but that is enough of that... The rest of our summer has been spent in our tent in uk getting wet.
Back to my expectations I hope to have a nice house with in pool in the garden which the boys will be able to use for at least six months. Be able to eat our dinner out side some evenings. Be able to take our children to eat out in good family friendly places. Able to drive to a ski resort of at least three long weekends a year and a few other long weekends exploring as to work me and DH want to work to live not live to work are these too high.....
Hi Guys
I got all my USA $ banking stuff over the past week, all done through our UK bank that have branches in USA. Have debit cards, check books and credit card. We had to laugh though credit card limit is a whopping $500 however will we manage to spend so much lol, still at least we have one & I guess we have to start somewhere. As for the checks what are they all about I need instructions lol they are not like the UK ones at all (& you have to pay when you write one!). We feel like teenagers again having to learn all about the big wide world of banks & bills it seems so funny not knowing about stuff that has become 2nd nature here in the UK:chair: .
We transferred some funds in to the $ account today just to make it feel more real.
We still have no buyer for the house & we have dropped the price again, I just dont know what else to do. The estate agent said we should not drop the price as it is already well under it's value. Any one else having trouble selling??
We have waited so long for the whole visa process to be held up now by the blasted house is just my luck.:angryfire
Case completed at NVC on 7th September :smiley_aaJust have to sit back and wait for what will seem like a lifetime again for the US Embassy to write.
One step closer. One step further away from Mrs Glyndwr filing for divorce on the grounds that I didn't tell her that it would take this long. And that our kids may have children of their own by the time we cross the pond.
Cheers
OG
Thats good news, time will just fly now.

Hi I havent edited your post I just removed the links from the bottom that seemed to be an error and caused the page to be GINORMOUS
Very yummy $5 but well worth it, Williams british store on line sell british bacon, sausages and sausage rolls too, so when you are desperate they are good to deal with.
Do you have the web link for the online store? Do they ship across the USA? My parents-in-law would be interested. They seriously miss their British sausages. They have found a British shop that sells decent bacon but not good sausages.
I don't like sausages much & the kids like the US breakfast links so we have no probs, Hubbie might be interested though.
