Seeking information about 2nd semester ADN program. Any and all information you wish to offer will be helpful. Is it more stressful than first semester? What are instructors like? What did you do in clinicals? Do you still have to hand write your own med cards? Case studies?? Just trying to get the scoop on what to expect.

Hey, I noticed you just joined and are finishing up 1st semester. Me too! I'm in the 11am class. Having a hard time studying...
I heard med/surg is more exciting. More to do. I'm in section 809. It's at St. Rose. What section did you register for. I may be able to tell you who you have and where you'll be at. I did a lot of research and know a few that are finishing up 2nd semester.

oops!
:yelclap: Yes, I just recently joined, glad I found this site! I am in the 2pm class. When did you have your lab/clinicals? I know what you mean about studying. We have covered SOOOOOO many chapters since the last exam, plus comprehensive. At this point I just want to pass, if you know what I mean! For med/surg clinical I registered for section 803, and for mental health clinicals its section 811. I was told that Carole had a list of instructors, but I haven't had time to get up with her to find out who I have. When are you taking your med/surg and mental health lectures and labs? I havent' found anyone that I know who has the same schedule, we all kinda got what we could get. I have heard that St. Rose is a fantastic hospital....Good for you! I am sure that next semester will be interesting...still trying to get through these last few days of this one (sooo stressful) Well, back to the books, ya know? Thanks for responding, look forward to hearing from you again.
Well, you are at St. Rose also! With Rhodes. I heard she is a hard grader, but excellent! You are also going to be thrilled with your mental clinical, you should have Lysyk. I will PM you the details. We don't like to talk too much about instructors here on the board.

i just finished 2nd semester at CCSN, it was alot easier than 1st. No med cards, and you have the hang of things more. Now you learn to look at the big pitcure, rather than specific body s ystems only. Much more critical thinking in 2nd though.
good luck

May I ask, how was your 1st semester at CCSN? I was just accepted for the Fall 07 program and am wondering what I am getting myself in to!!
What books, supplies, etc would be helpful? Do you start writing care plans in the beginning? During the 1st semester what kind of clinicals are there? Hospital or ???
Any insight you can give me is greatly appreciated.

I go to UNLV, but I have heard from students at many different schools that 2nd semester and on are much more exciting than 1st semester. You have a solid foundation and begin to expand your scope of practice. I have also heard that if a student can get through the first semester, they can get through any semester. :)

I've also been accepted for Fall at CSN. Any feedback would be great! Very worried and not sure what to expect. It all seems a bit confusing right now, and know it will all come into perspective.
