Are there any 2nd semester nursing students from CCSN here?

Published

Seeking information about 2nd semester ADN program. Any and all information you wish to offer will be helpful. Is it more stressful than first semester? What are instructors like? What did you do in clinicals? Do you still have to hand write your own med cards? Case studies?? Just trying to get the scoop on what to expect.

I also just got accepted into the Fall 07 program and was wondering what I should start studying to get a head start. Congratulations to you!!

Congratulations to all of you. I do not know which book you guys r going to use for NURS101, but you can review math (general calculations) in your free time. All the students at CCSN need to pass dosage calculation test in first semester and if anyone cannot pass(in 2nd try) he or she is out of course. If you had book for math 100b that one is good or you can look online, check on the following link and click on dosage calculation.

Brush up APA style of writing and if you can look at NCLEX questions because all the tests will be NCLEX based.

if you need any help just send me message. i just finished first semester in may. i would love to help. best of luck for your first semester.

Is it normal to be sick to your stomach, :barf01:

incredibly irritable,

& suffer from CRS...:uhoh21:

a whole month before classes start. Or is this from all the vaccines I have had to have done in the last week. Or maybe I am completely losing my mind. :uhoh3: UGH!

Just start reading your fundamentals book. There is a lot of reading to do, so getting a head start will truly help!

Good luck to you!

The med/calc tests are administered every semester! From 2nd semester on...it is given on your 1st clinical day, which may be your very first class back from break! In second semester, you also have an IV calc test, which you get 3 chances on (I think it's 25 questions), in addition to the med/calc test. 3rd semester, again med/calc test on first OB clinical day and a Peds dosage calc test given in lab. Fourth semester just has the med/calc test given first clinical day.

Take your time on these tests! Don't rush and you will do just fine. Don't ever hand in your paper without reworking all the problems first.

Good luck to everyone! It's totally do-able!

I think there is a bug going around. I did get all my vaccines and have been really sick since I got them 10 days ago.
