Are there any National University cohort 49 applicants?

Published

Hello!

First time user! I was wondering if there was anyone applying for NU cohort 49. This would be my second time applying for this program and I have been wondering if this would be a good time or when it would be good to apply again. The cohort I applied for was very competitive, the cut-off was 89 points!! Normally it's at about 82-83 points I believe. My final score was 80.7. I am interested in retaking my TEAS since I scored an 80% the first time to raise my score.

I would like to know applicants gpa and teas score if they've already taken it.

Excited to hear from you 😃

and for cohort 48 I heard there was 200 applicants :(

Hello everyone. I'm getting confused with the cut off from last cohort. I have heard from 89 to 86 and then 83. I actually just spoke with a Nursing rep and she said that the cut off was 83.5?

Also, to those who have taken the TEAS at NU, how long was the TEAS. The lady said it was 2.5 hours but it sound quite impossible since the Reading and Science part are about 50 minutes each?

Great job on the TEAS! How was it as SDSU? Were there a lot of A&P and chemistry questions?

@ceekay619 Good job on the TEAS! How was it at SDSU? Were there a lot of A&P and Chem questions?

^ TEAS time limits according to the ATI book:

Reading: 58 minutes (48 questions)

Math: 51 minutes (34 questions)

Science: 66 minutes (54 questions)

English and Language Usage: 34 minutes (34 questions)

Total: 209 minutes (170 questions)

Anyone can correct me if I'm wrong.

When I took the exam for the first time a few weeks back, it took me about 2 hours to do everything and I got a strong score. Science is especially packed with a&p and chem. But the exam has a little bit of everything in the ATI manual.

jdtgif that's what I thought as well. However, when I spoke with a rep, she said that the time limit was 2.5 hrs??? I even made sure that I heard it right -_-

where did you take it?

Lol. It is confusing. They first told me 89 but then a couple days ago they told me 85. They just give us so many numbers while explain time it's easy to get confused whether you're the one saying or the one listening.

And they say about two hours because of the proctored essay.

jdtgif where did you take your TEAS?

I thought that as well, so I would assume we should have more than 2.5 hrs to take the TEAS

Sorry I took long to reply; I took mine at SDSU but regardless of where you take the exam it's always going to be on the ATI website. As you take the exam, there will be a timer. I'm sure the times I listed are the times for each section on the actual exam. I don't see why any school would give you less time than the website allows. But if NU actually does then *shakes fist at National*

Hi, just like most people applying to cohort 49 I will be taking the TEAS V next week for NU. I was wondering if you don't mind me asking what do you consider to be a strong score for the TEAS V exam? If you don't mind sharing your score great or if you just know what a competitive score is. Thank you,

Also, I was told that you have 3.5 hours in total to finish the ATI exam. That's including the actual timed sections along with any breaks that you may be allowed while not on a specific section. However, there seems to be different numbers flying all over the place so take it for what it is.

@JancJ

I think a strong/competitive TEAS score will vary based on an individual's other points (GPA, essay.) If you have a 4.0, you can get away with a lower TEAS and still be competitive. Conversely, a lower GPA individual will want to kill the TEAS. Which is probably why everyone is so concerned about prior cohort cutoff scores to figure out what is a good minimum for them to shoot for.

That being said, I briefly looked at prior cohorts and most accepted students had TEAS scores of 78+. I would think if you're in the 90's you are obviously golden, but you definitely want to score in the 80's to be competitive, especially if the prior cohort cutoffs are to be believed.

I took the TEAS exam at SDSU and I'd say it took about 3.5 hours to complete. Granted I did go over and double check A LOT of answers. Good luck to everyone this week if you are scheduled!
