Hello!
First time user! I was wondering if there was anyone applying for NU cohort 49. This would be my second time applying for this program and I have been wondering if this would be a good time or when it would be good to apply again. The cohort I applied for was very competitive, the cut-off was 89 points!! Normally it's at about 82-83 points I believe. My final score was 80.7. I am interested in retaking my TEAS since I scored an 80% the first time to raise my score.
I would like to know applicants gpa and teas score if they've already taken it.
Excited to hear from you 😃
Hi Jancj,
Are you saying that the national average was 78% or that the average for National University applicants is 78%? I believe you can see the average % for National University applicants (and nationally) in your ATI profile.
If I understand it correctly, National University applicants scored an average 70.6%. To me this seems low, especially after seeing what everyone is posting on here. Also, the overall national score appears to be 64.3%.
Also, I didn't feel that I did that well. There were more questions than I expected that I simply had to guess. However, I got a 90% "adjusted total score".
Hey all,
I took the essay and TEAS today (8/19/16) so I likely saw many of you there.
I am a bit confused on one aspect with the scoring. Is the TEAS exam (worth 40% of the points) calculated based upon your "adjusted total score" or is it calculated based upon your percentile? If it is based on the "adjusted total score" I am surprised to hear how high of a cutoff there is. I scored a 90% (adjusted total score) which is in the 99th percentile nationally. So that means I would only get 36/40 points? That seems silly to me.
I have a 4.0 in all my science and math prerequisites; I'm hoping between that and a 90% TEAS will be enough. I nearly ran out of time on the essay - and wasn't all that happy with what I had written. :-(
I am honestly surprised at how competitive this whole nursing application process is ceekay619! It's been a bit of an eye opener. I was wait-listed at the other school I applied to. With my hospital consulting experience and references I thought I'd have the red carpet rolled out...it was definitely a reality check.

@rja1993 there was a fair amount of Anatomy n Physiology as well as chemistry, not so much microbiology in the test I took. Best of luck!
