Hello all,
I am applying for the Fall 2018 ARC SCC cohort and was looking for a group to join; I didn't find one so I thought I would make a post.
Are there any students who already have Bachelor's that are applying to the program? I am looking into funding and what to do for work while in the program because we do not qualify for aid.
Is anyone applying for scholarships? Anyone going to be working full-time during the program?
Also, is anyone else having trouble finding a TEAS testing time around Sacramento?
Good luck everyone!
I have a 3, 5 and 7 year old. I was looking and the one at SCC is online which seems really manageable over the summer. I have a lot of family in the area so have tons of support and help. I am not excited about the drive and a little worried about traffic near SCC when classes start at 7:30am. My in laws where ill be staying are in Folsom and google says its a 45 minute drive without traffic.
I'm waiting hear from chamberlain but don't know I would take a spot there if I got in. MY husband thinks I should since I would for sure get a bsn instead of hoping to do the bsn merger through csus. I can use his GI bill so the price doesn't matter but I want to save it for a graduate degree. Chamberlain is nice but SCC is a lot cheaper. Arc said I didn't qualify because some of my classes were from out of state and I didn't get prior approval.
If anyone that was admitted for fall 2018 to scc gets their packet and orientation date soon and can tell me what day it's on that would be awesome. I've called and left them a message but am out of town so I need to plan a flight down for orientation and figure out how to get my packet before the 4th lol.
Just fyi for anyone looking at the forums. I got a denial from SCC RN program and SCC LVN program on Friday. They just sent me an email today at 12:26 pm to let me know I'm an alternate for LVN spring 2019. So may be some hope for others if you're still waiting for SCC. I'm still waiting for ARC and Delta.

Has anyone heard if they have been accepted yet into the ARC program? I found out this past Friday, April 20th, I was accepted into the Sac City colleges nursing program and only have til May 4th to accept or decline the offer. I'd prefer ARC so I'm wondering if anyone has gotten an email yet. I saw a couple years back someone mentioned how the accepted students get an email a week or so before the non accepted students, who knows if this is true or not, but I'm so impatient!

We we should DEFINITELY know by may 4th. Their application said they'd notify us 8 weeks after the close of applications. The 8 week mark is this Wednesday.

I am scheduled to take an online pharmacology class through Santa Barbara City College, but was going to try and register for the one at sac city (their registration date was later). I like having any knowledge that might give me a slight advantage. Balancing a full-time school load and family life is going to be a huge adjustment. I am super excited but nervous also! I am also trying to minimize my summer activities and rest up for the next 2 years!
