ARC SCC ADN/RN Fall 2018

Published

Hello all,

I am applying for the Fall 2018 ARC SCC cohort and was looking for a group to join; I didn't find one so I thought I would make a post.

Are there any students who already have Bachelor's that are applying to the program? I am looking into funding and what to do for work while in the program because we do not qualify for aid.

Is anyone applying for scholarships? Anyone going to be working full-time during the program?

Also, is anyone else having trouble finding a TEAS testing time around Sacramento?

Good luck everyone!

Hi All!

I happily received an acceptance email this evening for the Fall 2018 semester. I am super excited and shocked that I made it in on the 1st try. I have applied to 5 schools total and received my rejection email from Sac State this evening. I am beyond excited that I at least know for sure that I made it into a nursing school. I am still waiting to hear back from ARC. I have been reading some past forums and was hoping to get more information about the ADN-BSN program others were talking about. Does anyone know anything about this?

I received my email at 2:20 PM. Still checking for ARC, hopefully they send theirs out soon!

Is one program better than the other?

I read that during first semester you fill out a letter of intent for the bsn collaboration and then in second semester they randomly select from the Ppl interested. They take students from arc, scc and sierra until they have 40 total. You take upper level general ed classes through sac state in the summer and some during the last 1 or 2 semesters.

SCC and Sac State have a formal program (from what I recall) that will take you through the ADN program at SCC and upon graduation, you basically are ready to enter their RN->BSN program at Sac State. In essence, it's a transfer agreement and you have to qualify for it. How it actually works, I am not sure. A few of my classmates have gone on to get their BSN, some through Sac State, others through other programs.

Usually ARC and SCC are within about a week of each other as far as that goes. If you haven't heard from ARC by next Friday, then they may be doing something different than they used to.

Is one program better than the other?

They're fairly comparable. They each do things a little differently so transferring between programs can be interesting at best, but they're both good. ARC's program was originally a part of SCC's program back around the mid-late 1950's, if I recall the history correctly.

Is one program better than the other?

Not that I know of, but I got in for Spring 19' and would choose Fall 18' if I got in at ARC.

Thanks for the Info! I was denied at SCC first time applying ever but accepted to Sierra College my first time applying as well! I will definitely be looking to the ADN BSN merger as Orientation dates get closer. Good luck to all still applying!!

Has anyone received results for their ARC fall applications?

Have you gotten any response from arc yet?

Is anyone that got into SCC gonna do pharmacology this summer? I read theirs is included in the curriculum but that it can be advantageous to take it. I was certified as a pharm tech but let my certification expire so I learned a lot about drugs but its been a few years so considering taking it in order to get a leg up hopefully. I am still waiting on other colleges but getting more used to the idea of going to SCC.
