APU 2+2 Nursing Spring 2021

Nursing Students School Programs

Published

Hello,

Anyone else apply for APU's Spring 2021 nursing program? I got an email the other day regarding more locations for the 2+2 program. I'm hoping that means more students will be accepted. This is my third time applying, so I am really hoping my third time is the charm!

Hopefully you'll hear something soon!

I'm super excited too! Do you think classes will be on zoom or in person?

I was told that they are doing classes via zoom. They are supposed to give us that information at orientation. We will do what we need to do. I have waited 20 years to get into a program. This is my first time applying and I got in. It was in God's time.

Yes I agree thank you to all who continue to post. It's a relief to find others going through the same situation, nerves, excitement.

Wow! I’m really hoping to get in. This is all nerve wrecking. Thank you everyone for continuing to post and comment even after getting accepted to keep us others updated.

No problem. I would want an update as well specially if we have to make special arrangements with work and get our financials ready. It really helps to get some scoop.

For those of you who have gotten in would you mind sharing your stats? science GPA volunteer or other medical experience? :) Thank you! I am hoping to apply after this semester.

Hi Ashley,

I will tell you what I did. I re-took all of my science classes again as they were old and my grades were average. Not competitive at all. My science GPA went from average to a 3.9 and my cumulative is a 3.4. Experience, I have been an LVN for 17 years. Essay counted significantly as did your references. If need to, work on your sciences even if you take 1 or 2 over, at least they will see that you’ve made an effort. Make sure you get trusted people that care about you and want you to succeed as a reference. Had I applied without doing any of this, I know I would not have not gotten in. You can do this, you got this.

Of course! Good luck to you! My GPA was a cumulative 3.85. I have volunteer experience through my church, Loma Linda University Hospital, and a therapy dog group. I had an internship with an osteopathic doctor and I work as a respite caregiver. I definitely agree with @AngLVN, get your science GPA up by retaking classes if you have to, but also make yourself look like a well-rounded person by adding in anything else you do besides school.

Hello everyone, I’m just checking in to see if any of my community college transfers have heard anything? My anxiety is at an all time high and from what I can see on the thread only the LVN applicants have been notified of acceptance. I know with COVID there is a delay, but I figured we would have heard back by now. I’m praying for good news this week, but with orientation around the corner my chances are looking thin.

I totally understand where you’re coming from. My anxiety is also through the roof ?I thought we would know by now. My employer is already wanting to know my availability for January. I will also have to takeout loans not sure how long that process takes. I wish we knew already to plan or move on.

I haven’t heard anything back yet either. Hoping to hear something today. Like people have said, the wait is longer than we were told. Week 9 already LOL

I transferred from Victor Valley College and was accepted as an alternate for Spring and guaranteed for Summer 2021. They called me on 11-23-2020 to tell me I was accepted. This was my first time applying.
