APU 2+2 Nursing Spring 2021

Published

Hello,

Anyone else apply for APU's Spring 2021 nursing program? I got an email the other day regarding more locations for the 2+2 program. I'm hoping that means more students will be accepted. This is my third time applying, so I am really hoping my third time is the charm!

@Dy M

Im currently a LVN to BSN student at the IE campus in my 3rd semester. I can give you an example of my schedule just not sure how it would compare to a 2+2 schedule.

1st semester

Thursdays 8-12 thoery/zoom'

*our program has no clinical component the 1st semester*

2nd semester

Sunday 630am-7pm clinicals or Friday 630am-7pm *cohort split into 2 groups for clinical days*

Monday -skills lab on campus for 2hours. 5 students per 2hours.

Thursday 8-2pm theory/zoom

*also bible class online no zoom times, just do work/reading needed for the week and submit*

3rd Semester

Monday 630am-7pm clinicals

Wednesday- Skills lab on campus for 2 hours.

Thursday- 8-10am  & 1-3pm Theory/zoom  &   6-8pm - NovEx Debrief (simulation)

Hope this helps ?

Hi everyone, I am a prospective student coming from a community college. I am just finishing up last science class and will apply in October 2021. I have a question on those who are in the program already, would you be able to share what schedule looks like? I am a mom and needs to arrange a specific schedule for my children when I start going to APU (hopeful). Any feedbacks would be helpful. Thank you

I’m second semester 2+2 currently in HD campus I can attach some images of my 1st semester and current schedule but the schools kinda sporadic with last minute skills lab changes and clinical changes so my schedules don’t always look like the images ??hopefully the images are viewable LOLCB734569-672F-46BF-B483-0DD06BB9FB75.thumb.jpeg.4a365c2ec5ae5261be43d238a1af1ab0.jpeg70E3AD82-B2AD-4485-9706-E0FEFCA17E28.thumb.jpeg.d662c21014f674349ccf174509ccf129.jpeg

Hello! I recently applied for the BSN Summer 2021 program. My portal still looks like this. Will this update once they have made a decision? Thank you!

Yes! Once they make a decision your account will update and you’ll be able to view the decision letter. At least that’s how it was for me. But our cohort didn’t get our admissions decisions until 2-3 weeks before classes actually started. They’re usually pretty last minute ? not sure how they’ve changed since  then.

Thank you very much! How is the class during this pandemic?

We’re all still majority meeting online via zoom for lectures. Except for skills lab and clinical those are in person. I’m not sure if they’re going to move forward next semester with oncampus classes but I’ve heard they want to push for return to campus starting Summer but don’t quote me on me that ?. Personally for me, I actually liked zoom lectures because most professors record their lectures and make it available to review on our own time. And it’s just more convenient for me because it cuts down my cost for commuting to campus. I know it’s flexible for many of my friends in the cohort who are also moms because they can always take the lectures on the go. The only down side is making sure you have a reliable source of WiFi which can be iffy because of the pandemic. But overall I don’t think it’s that bad ??‍♀️

@Lunlun

I appreciate your response. I also find it more convenient doing all the lectures on zoom like I am doing right now with my classes. I am hoping to apply on October for the Spring 2022 cohort. But I am not sure if I can get in since I don't have any recent job experience. I have good grades in all sciences though. I've read some posts in here that have same grades as I have and didn't get in. I am nervous to apply and get rejected. Did they schedule you for an interview?

For those of you who got accepted into the upper 2+2 BSN transfer program, any advice on how to write my essay?
