APU LVN-BSN Program Fall 2019

Nursing Students School Programs

Published

Hello,

I wanted to start a thread to connect with other fellow nurses who applied at APU for the LVN-BSN program for Fall 2019. I applied in Monrovia campus. Did anyone else applied there or the IE campus? I would love to hear from you guys. I would also like to hear from people that are in the program. I want to know what to expect and how is the learning experience so far. ☺️

Congratulations!!! Wish you all the best on the test and the program.

Hey, Just found this thread. I took my c.exam on the 8th . Havent heard anything from anyone yet. I know they said APU orientation is Aug2nd. But if thats the case, we should be getting letters soon right? Acceptance or rejection.

Hey ryinn88

i talked to the admissions advisor from inland empire campus yesterday and she said we should hear something by this Thursday

Is the comp test multiple choice and skills test? Is there also a written test on the same day?

Nurse_nia3

The comp test is 30 question multiple choice it was very easy, with 5 math questions. They graded the test right away. Once we were done with the written we did a skills test, one was vital signs and the other was medication pass.

So looks like emails were sent out today, and I think Ive gotten in. Whats the deal with this pharmacology / nutrition test out option? Any ideas whats on this test or how hard it is? $200 to fail an exam is a bit steep.

Hi i take my competency test this tuesday the 23rd, can anyone give me pointers? Also do you know if you pass right away?? Super nervous! I have waited 7 years to get into a BSN program!

good luck ! It wasnt too bad. you pull meds and give them like like you did back in the LVN program you did. And theres 30 M.C questions with some basic dosing math. Itll be fine. Not gonna lie though, the "study guide" they gave you/me was pretty much worthless.

What do you think I should focus on for the written? The study guide indicated restraints but nothing in the powerpoint had anything with reatraints ?

Hey Abbey86,

Like Ryin88 said, Its not bad. It’s an easy test, the calculations are easy too. Fundamental nursing questions. Honestly just do a quick review of you study guide and review it a few times. You will be ok. Skilled exam focus on taking V/S and med pass. Good luck! Which campus are you taking your exam?

Anyone get the nutrition/pharmacology study guide yet? I sent in my form and paid the bill, and nothing...but that exam is this friday
