Hello,
I wanted to start a thread to connect with other fellow nurses who applied at APU for the LVN-BSN program for Fall 2019. I applied in Monrovia campus. Did anyone else applied there or the IE campus? I would love to hear from you guys. I would also like to hear from people that are in the program. I want to know what to expect and how is the learning experience so far. ☺️
Omg that is what exactly I was thinking they are so unorganized have no idea every time I call them. In 2017 I submit my unofficial application for review and they told me everything looks good you need to take couple classes in order to get in APU.so finally I finished all the requirements they have asked. And the whole time they said everything looks good. And now out of no where I got denial letter. they didn't really gave me solid reason why they denied. So yes definitely Apu nursing department is unorganized.
I'm currently in the program at this point it is very very competive some people didnt get chance to interview people who had 3.65 didnt get call what i do know for sure is it all about GPA. Most of us who are in my class feel very lucky that we got in a couple of terms when people didnt know about IE campus and GPA could be as little 3.2 The director of the program is strict with hard work grades pay off. Dont give up hope is APU a little disorganized yes. But they do really care and it not all about the money. The professor are really good and are there to help of course in life some are better. APU is well worth it
Guri, I would ask the program director. I mean we can only speculate that grades would improve your chances. Or maybe the phone interview wasnt great. Either way only the program directors would really be able to give you the best answer. You can definitely try to apply again and to an LVN to RN program at a JC for a back up.

I talked to Hannah and she said you can keep re-applying. What they want and are looking for is applicants with competitive gpas. Retaking science classes and boosting your gpa will help. That is what I'm doing now and hopefully that will help.
