Hello,
I wanted to start a thread to connect with other fellow nurses who applied at APU for the LVN-BSN program for Fall 2019. I applied in Monrovia campus. Did anyone else applied there or the IE campus? I would love to hear from you guys. I would also like to hear from people that are in the program. I want to know what to expect and how is the learning experience so far. ☺️

I know IE and Monrovia timing are different, you might get a phone call after the the forth July weekend. Hope you get a phone call from them soon. Good luck.

Hi Moni418,
I will definitely contact you. I’ll talk to you soon. ?
Hello everyone I just heard back from the inland empire campus yesterday to take my competency test. Today August 11 at 3-7. They actually tried to contact me on July 3 and I didn’t get the message and again on July 8. I was so busy checking my email and mail box I missed the voice message. Anyways they sent me the study guide which is basic nursing information and easy D over H math. I was told to dress in scrubs and bring my Stethoscope. I’m super excited and a little nervous because I know this is the final step before starting.
I was wondering what was going on since I saw people getting phone calls/letters, so I called since I still hadn’t heard anything or received anything yet. They told me they are still in the process of reviewing applications and to give them until the end of next week. So there’s still hope, if there’s anyone out there who hasn’t heard anything yet.

Hey Jazzyj,
How exciting!! You will be ok. It's easy, but just be prepared when they ask you questions of basic knowledge stuff. It's all in the study guide. Wish you the best of luck!! You got this!!

Hey Nurse_Nia,
Don’t lose hope. Monrovia written exam is tomorrow, but l feel like the IE campus is running a little behind with their application process. Sometimes it depend on how many people applied too. Well I hope you hear from them soon! Good luck!!
Hey everyone just checking back in, I just completed the competency and skills test. The test was 30 question long and basic questions. I missed one on the test. I was told that the program director was calling ever one at the Inland empire campus, I’m not sure if any emails or letters were sent. She also told me there was a test date on the 8th and the second one was today the 11th. The program director also said that she was going to as the head Dr over the program, if she could add another test date. They let us know that’s there was a told of 65 people that applied to the inland empire campus, and I final admission depends on the competency score, and highest GPA. I hope this helps everyone good luck and have a blessed evening.

Hey Jazzy,
Thanks for all the info. We took our written exam today in Monrovia. Like you said it was basic/fundamental questions. Not bad. ? Have a blessed day!

Sorry, to hear that. But yes they can re-apply. If I don't get in APU, my second option was to apply at all the community colleges in So Cal. The application deadline are all in September, I believe. Definitely re-apply, Good luck.
